the funny part is this is a completely sophistic reframing of what the beauty and the beast story stems from.
B&B is the g-rated version of a longtime female sexual fantasy archetype of taming the dominant and dangerous high-status male, where "status" actually means high on a dominance hierarchy, not being a doctor or politician or whatever the f***. To give you an idea, the other common character types are pirates, kingpins, werewolves (lol), rogues etc. Thats hardly a secret, theres an entire, surprisingly successful literary genre devoted to rehashes of this sort of crap, sometimes suggestive, sometimes explicit in its sexual content. B&B is the childrens version where they dont f***, and as you're reading this I've just now awared you to the kind of cultural programming you are unwittingly giving your kids.
The reason why the reframe is sophistic and makes no sense is because in this archetype, the "male" or beast is in no way actually sexually repulsive, quite the opposite. Whereas the reframe suggests the woman is indeed beastly because shes ugly, and thus would not be "given a chance" by a male suitor.
and of course, in real life, we know the proposed situation does happen quite often: male settles with first woman who is nice to him and shows him a modicum of sexual interest. Its actually far more common than the idealized female romance of "taming" the dark triad, which in real life often ends with either someone dead, in hospital or in prison.
