"even after decades of baldness"

That's very interesting. I wonder how they pulled that off of it's true. It just sounds too fantastic to be legit.

I would be very happy too if this proved true. But a common denominator of all the new candidate cures is that no one promises long-dormant follicles to grow new hair. And by "long-dormant" they mean three to five years.
A promise to do otherwise sounds like the promise to regrow a missing limb, as medical progress stands today.

Clinical means phase 1-3. It could be any of them.

Testing on humans is only possible if they are in clinical trials already. Otherwise FDA would shut them down. SO those 7 Androgenetic Alopecia patients they trialed it on, tells me they've done phase 1. Now I know that summary from the first page said they were in Phase 2, but that would mean they were recruiting several dozen Androgenetic Alopecia sufferers without going public. I find that unlikely. So in my opinion they are probably getting ready for starting Phase 2. However this is all just b(o)ald speculation on my part so take it with several dozen grains of salt.

So the ceo is/or used to be the ceo and founder of a company named gliamed which supposedly was working on a drug for Androgenetic Alopecia and also had the holyh grail to alot of other diseases. Theres even some posts on the other forum referencing them. This blog post about them was super interesting.

I wonder if the drug Rivertown is working on is a variation of some sort of what Gliamed had started.

I mean your probably right. They either started phase 2 or just preparing to start. But I disagree that it is unlikely that they couldnt privately recruit trial participants. From what I know Follica didnt mention where they are recruiting participants and gave very little info on it.

http://www.rivertowntherapeutics.com/

their website is currently under construction.

View attachment 40938

but according to this they are already in phase 2! look at the key first and then look near the last row under Theatre 2.

Their presentation should be on this page as a webcast, but unfortunately not all the companies who presented seem to have one up here. Maybe they will update it soon.

Hey @Xaser94 thanks for always bringing us new info.

The spreadsheet you attached shows that Rivertown is in Phase II, is there anyway to confirm that's for their hair loss treatment and not some other treatment? Being that their presentation at that event was for hair loss I would assume the Phase II listing is for that but just wanted to see if you've come across anything else that confirms the above. Thanks in advance.

a combination of three agents that together have thousands of people/years exposure in humans with excellent safety profiles.

So this uses natural ingredients?

They mention "small molecules" which are about 90% of drugs on the market today.

yes Follica company officials aren't even allowed to talk to US reporters due to some stipulation with being listed on London stock exchange and, I imagine, for reasons of maintaining trade secrecy. Cotsarelis has more patents than any other hair researcher.

And in his talk with FT recently, David Weinstein said they are currently raising funds to pay for a Phase 1B/2A study, and NIH document submission. Phase 1B is a newer approach to speeding up phase 1 toward randomized phase 2 trials. Phase 1 drug trials typically take several years to complete while a phase 1b study could be just six months. This is a topical solution with most of it having established safety not an oral drug, so I'm guessing a speedy phase 1b is what they are aiming for and doing phase 2A in parallel. And hopefully a pivotal phase 2B/3A study after that?

Hey guys, Xaser94 here again with some great news. I feel like with all the recent excitement with Jak inhibitors at the recent conference and with all the recent treatments we are in a way getting spoiled but heres some more great news!

RiverTown Therapeutics is a clinical stage startup with a novel, topically applied prescription product that promotes the recruitment of new hair follicles, and/or rejuvenates existing follicles that have become dormant in humans with androgenic alopecia. The lead compound, RT1640 is a combination of three agents that together have thousands of people/years exposure in humans with excellent safety profiles. When applied to areas of hair loss (scalp, eyebrows, beard) RT1640 promotes the reanimation of hair follicles through the recruitment and differentiation of follicular stem cells, including melanocyte stem cells. As a result of these events, new hair grows over the bald areas. In addition, if the subject had achromotrichia (gray or white hair from color-loss) before hair loss, it grows back as pigmented hair. RT1640 has been tested in scores of animals and on seven humans with androgenic alopecia, all of whom have responded with hair growth. There are several follow-on indications beyond androgenic alopecia, including wound healing and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. All of the technologies rely on the company's proprietary technology of recruitment and differentiation of stem cells in situ.

Thanks for sharing this...this one seems really exciting because of the age of the two people in progress pics. Both were over 40 and for both genders.

I am not putting minoxidil anywhere near my scalp anymore

So RT17 obviously relies on growth stimulant too

According to http://www.folliclethought.com/rivertown-therapeutics-results-exclusive/, RT1640 contains 3 components:
* Minoxidil
* Ciclosporin (cyclosporine A)
* a new drug called RT175

Ciclosporin is >1200g/mol. How is this substance possible to enter the scalp?

Also, one adverse effect of oral ciclosporin is hair growth. This drug is an immunosuppressant. So is some immunological mechanisms actually triggered in Androgenetic Alopecia?
