I'm only 18 and I've been debating on if I should start finasteride too, but I decided against it. I've done some research on its side effects sounds devastating.
Currently, I'm not on any medication but I plan to start using nizoral (the safest), and maybe some Rogaine, but not finasteride. I don't think you should start either just because the forum convinces you. Maybe if you're really desperate, but I don't think you are balding at a large pace yet, so just hold on, maybe when you start balding like crazy then start it, but I would recommend waiting for a bit, it could ruin your life

Some info about myself, 19 years of age, diffuse thinning over the last 2 years, applied rogaine the front and back, till now I can see some results in my hairline, however I really wanted some growth in the front but I guess its too early since I just stopped shedding (shed lasted 3 weeks) 4 days ago.

Are these velus hairs on my hairline, is it possible for them to grow terminal? too early for frontal and vertex results as I didnt put any pictures up because I cant really notice a difference.

EDIT: 3 months of rogaine and nizoral results

Any results I think are attributed to the rogaine-nizoral use,I also have been on finasteride for 15 days now and doubt that it had any effect yet.

First collage, front view before and a set of afters

Second collage, Left temple before and after and left profile, right temple before and after and right profile, vertex before and after

third collage All vertex after, wet hair before and wet hair after.

I hope you can see any results from the pics, I'm 19 almost 20 and diffuse thinner for over a year now.

Congrats man. I see a dermatologist this week about accutane use and whether or not I can fix this. I wish I checked for male pattern baldness in my genes before doing this. My dad still had hair at 60. We both have receeding hair. His was badly receeded at that point. I had a perfect head of hair prior to accutane and then, I just noticed at the 4month point, it thinning. The only thing they have noticed for blood work is low iron and a few times low potassium. I dealt with this with taking a banana twice a day. Its strange. Too much potassium kills you and not enough hurts you too. I am kind of like http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/attachment.php?attachmentid=18047&d=1345422711 the last pic. Not quite but, like I can see the scalp meaning thinning hair. I am going to see a natural path for this.
