Only had itching for the first few days or so. I do however itch when i apply the minoxidil when my scalp is slightly damp after a shower. However Ive read that a slightly damp scalp helps absorption so maybe its itching because its more effective thenmrfifs said:

yeah ive read on a post before about applying minoxidil on damp scalp helps the absorption. i hope the nizoral that i started using a week ago will help decrease the itch in time to come.

I got the ball-ache to start with too, but after 3 weeks on finasteride, never noticed anything at all. It's a cliche, but you have to let your body adjust. After that, most likely you won't feel anything untoward.Ryansworld said:

Quick update:
Decided to cut the nizoral down to once per week. Although its only 1% nizoral the 3x week applications was killing my hair and left it dry and flaky. I researched and found that overuse of nizoral actually increases hairloss. So instead of cutting it out completely il use only once per week. Can anyone recommend a decent shampoo to use on the off days. Im currently using Alpacin caffeine and it feels great. But i also heard it cancels out the minoxidil. Is this true anyone had experience. Thanks

Yeah ive heard of the ball ache side effect so I figured if i started with .5mg of finasteride and eased up to 1mg afew weeks later I should have a better chance of bypassing any sides but so far none yet.
Looking at your hairline it appears that there's an area where its really thin but not bald that gives an outline of what your hairline mustv been a shortwhile back and I bet if your a good responder that area could thicken up.

Generic Finasteride | 1mg - Everyday | 7 weeks
Ok hello everyone its been almost 2 month on fins and things are looking great and I have made a new discovery that may help beat my hairloss :woot: Basically for the past year i have been getting more and more sick no idea whats up with me. After 12 month and 4 doctors i have been diagnosed with anemia. I'm not saying my hairloss is related to my anemia but im sure its not helping it either. Treatment starts next week so il see if i notice any change and update you soon. Anyway back to my hair report. Glad to report im having absolutely no sides from the finasteride despite increasing my dose to 1.25mg only side i experienced where ball aches and brain fog. My hair appears much better and is alot thicker and just overall appears alot healthier and darker. My temples are filling in but very slowly and the right temple is filling in alot more then the left. Things are looking up i cant upload photos right now because i have recently moved places and half my belongings are boxed.

I'm starting to scare myself about the side effects of finasteride. Ive been researching alot and im particularly worried about the effect finasteride has on estrogen levels. I have been on finasteride for 14 weeks now and i believe im showing sides. My libido has dropped alot and although i can gain an erections its not as firm and i tend to lose it during sex. Apart from that although i have a natural barrel chest im concerned my nipples appear to be puffy. Since taking propecia my face and neck appear swollen perhaps water retention and i have put on weight on my mid section. Ive made an appointment with my doctors and im gonna ask for a through testing. I'm pretty concerned and i don't know what to do... :dunno:

Things aint looking too good right now :thumbdown2: after 14 weeks on finasteride 1.25mg per day ive taken a massive blow in my fight against hairloss. It seems that finasteride is just not good for me i have been experiencing pretty severe sides and Ive been advised by my doctor to stop taking finasteride immediately! For the first 8 weeks everything was fine nothing but a little brain fog and testicular pain. However in recent weeks i have been finding it increasingly difficult to gain or even maintain and erection it wasn't happening downstairs or in my head dosent matter if im alone watching a porno or with my beautiful girlfriend it just wasn't happening. My testicles feel like there shrinking my scrotum is tight against my gooch and my penis seems to have shrunk. Also since starting finasteride i have put on alot of weight around my mid section and breast area my nipples appear puffy. I seem to be holding alot of water giving me a bloated feeling in my face. Low energy, poor concentration, poor sleep, insomnia, sometimes feeling like a complete zombie :sobbing: Stopped taking finasteride 3 days ago and im feeling alot better already i had sex last night and held an erection! yey! Since stopping finasteride Ive been taking 1500mg of tribulus and 60mg of zinc per day to get myself back to normal. Ive come to the conclusion... personally im not risking my health and youthfulness over my hair although finasteride works amazingly in saving your hair for me the cons outweighed the pros. Yesterday i ordered some Spironolactone 5% S5 Cream and i will use this in combination with minoxidil. Il keep you all updated soon let you know how things are going. Regards Ryan.
Since stopping finasteride Ive been taking 1500mg of tribulus and 60mg of zinc per day to get myself back to normal. Ive come to the conclusion... personally im not risking my health and youthfulness over my hair although finasteride works amazingly in saving your hair for me the cons outweighed the pros. dude ive been on the big 3 for just over a year and i havent lost anything, and if i have gained ne progross its very slight. my point being its such a time investment. my advice would be keep poppin ur finasteride and live your life. when i first jumped on meds i was looking for instant results, they say you achieve your best results at 2 years. soo relax take it slow, knowing your doing all u possibly can be,.

Its been along time since I posted here. Around 8 month I believe. I've come back to tell everyone how things are going and to cut it short things aint good. I've been off finasteride for several months after experiencing some nasty sides that I noted in my previous post back in June. As of now things are better but not 100% I'm still having sexual dysfunction I say sexual dysfunction because its more then just my penis that's not fully working. In the past 8 months I've been very ill and visited the doctor many times. I've been told my liver function is poor and I'm scheduled for a biopsy soon. Aside from that IL tell you how I've been since stopping finasteride. Back in June my libido was rock bottom I couldn't get or maintain an erection. I felt like a walking zombie. Fast forward to now and things are just the same. Weak erection, Low libido, No penis sensation, Low ejaculate volume, Low ejaculate power. I've had every blood test out there. Testosterone, dht, estrogens, cortisol, thyroid, vitamin & mineral deficiencies. Everything coming back normal. Personally I believe the finasteride has messed with the signals between my brain and my penis. My mind often wonders while trying to have sex. p**rn doesn't even excite me. I feel as though I could go forever without sex and wouldn't be bothered. I also think the finasteride has somehow irritated my prostate. I have very healthy sperm but low ejaculate fluid. I've had no test on my prostate so I'm not sure for certain. I'm not here to put anyone off using finasteride I'm sure its different for every man. But one thing is for sure if I could go back now know what this has done to me I would never have even considered finasteride. To everyone that's thinking about this drug please think about it because the side effects are very real. Good luck all. Regards, Ryan.
