No hyperglycemia or hyperinsulinemia for until you take it, AMPK activation and consequently anti-aging are a few more things Metformin does. I've been taking it for 1 year and I feel very healthy. There are potential downsides though. The one that worries me the most is that it can negatively affect the gastrointestinal absorption of Vitamin B12, which can lead to its deficiency and consequently Telogen Effluvium. Other than that, I feel like it is a net positive drug despite its other infrequent side effects.
Hey mate. How are you doing? Maintaining all the progress you made?

Yes, I agree about Met being a net positive drug. Re Gastro effects, I read somewhere that film-coated or sth like slow release tablets are much better in this regard.

Hey... I'm definitely maintaining all the progress I made. My hairline is the best part of my scalp actually. Very thick and perfectly round and as low as possible. Crown is fine too. If I don't style my hair at all, it still doesn't look like any hair loss (except for when it's wet, my middle part is visible almost all the time, but if I part it intentionally in the middle, it looks fine).
I still prefer wearing hair fibers on my parting, to create unrealistic looking thickness.

I went through the thread and don't see any mention of what you're doing. Are you one of the people on topical bicalutamide? If so, please share your protocol , how long you've tried it etc.

I'm taking oral Bicalutamide 50 mg daily with Finasteride 1 mg daily. Metformin and nutritional supplements are not a part of my hair loss protocol. I've been on this protocol for almost 20 months, with the only side effect as gynecomastia. I'm about to upload my progress (images) on my thread, so you can go check it out.

Hemingway stopped bicalutamide, through a topical route. Currently, the only ‘alive’ users of bicalutamide are DHTcel, Maave and myself (in which we use it orally).

Why'd he give up topical bicalutamide? I heard it was working for him

I think it's because he got gyno, not sure.

Waiting for bicalutamide to arrive. Going to use it topically low dose. I guess I'm the only one around who will be using it.

The other topical bica/daro users seem to have moved on to OH-flutamide. Hopefully they'll report back their results soon. I missed the last GB, we can get another going if they get results.

They should report on the results in some months, since most of them started it fairly recently. It will be greatly interesting to see what happens... o_O

Hi, @Ikarus , my name is Thomas, nice to have you and dhtcel to be here providing very valuable information regarding bicalutamide.

First of all, I am from Hong Kong where English is not the first language. So sometimes I may interpret myself not so clearly. Please indulge.

Secondly, I totally agree what you said about dutasteride non responder. I have been taking 2.5mg dutasteride since few months ago and my hair loss has continued without any improvement at all. As a side note, this dose of dutasteride cannot bring me ED....I can still function very well with my Dick.

From that experience, I think 5ar reductive inhibitor is no longer working on me. So the next step I could take is to try antiandrogen which is essentially bicalutamide, flutamide, oral spironolactone, cyproterone etc.

Amongst all these drugs, I think bicalutamide is the safest option for me. So I just want to ask for your opinion that how much dosage per day I should start with and should I continue 5,ar reductase inhibitor drug?

Lastly, with regard to the price of bicalutamide, one of the Indian sellers gave me quotation of USD140 for 200 pills under the brand of cipla or Hetero. Do you think this is fair enough.

Thanks very much for your attention.

@Ikarus I have one final question. When it comes to gyno, do you think it is possible for me to grow ones given my weight is only 55kg with only 7% body fat. My chest or breast is very very flat. in that sense, still possible to grow gyno?

Thanks.

Out of all of the anti-androgens, the best option definitely is bicalutamide. However, it’s recommendable to combine it with a low-dose of cyproterone. It will allow you to use a lower dose of bicalutamide.

You should use 6.25mg of cyproterone along with 50mg of bicalutamide. If you added oral minoxidil into the mix, your results would become rapid.

In regards to the pricing, that’s a good price. Is he a trustable seller?

It’s possible, but the likelihood is that it will be minimal. I wouldn’t worry about the gynecomastia too much, just make sure you keep your weight and body fat the same as it currently is, and you should be fine for the most part.

Thanks for your reply. Cyproterone is too much for me I think. Because I know this drug will feminize you and it is used widely by transgender woman.

I thinking whether the combination of bicalutamide plus finasteride 1mg suffices for me?

Oral minoxidil I am not considering because I still have a full head of hair but just the hair loss has speeded up quite aggressively.

Which brand of bicalutamide you are using? I have the knowledge that casodex price is exceptionally high....

2.5mg of dutasteride made no difference at all to your hair loss? That is unusual. Where did you obtain your dutasteride from? Were you using brand-name Avodart?

This. to make no difference would be very rare.

Yes indeed. 2.5mg of dutasteride should certainly have some sort of an effect, even if that just means maintaining the hair you already have. I don't know how he obtained his dutasteride, but if it was the case that he bought it online from somewhere like India, his dutasteride might not have been genuine.

In order to avoid the fake drug thingy, I purchased both avodart and CIPLA (India). And each time I take the drug, it will be 3 avodart and 2 Cipla or the other way round. In that sense, assuming cip is fake, I am still consuming a certain amount of dutasteride.

Moreover, CIPLA is a very huge company in India and I purchased from a reputable trader in INDIAMART. so I don't think all Indian drugs are fake at all.

It seems you were simply a non-responder then, which is very unfortunate. Seeing as dutasteride didn't stop your hair loss, there isn't really anything that will other than possibly these HRT treatments.

Moreover, I have my own theory developed over the course of my entire hair loss life.

If my dick functions well, my hair loss stop. If my dick is often going upward, my hair loss will continue.

The 2.5mg dutasteride can't kill my dick. In other words, hair loss continues.

Anyone here have the same conclusion as me?

I am sorry again with my English because I am from Hong Kong

I use Casodex, and it’s fine to use bicalutamide along with finasteride, that will at least make the competition between T and DHT has been combated and the effectiveness of bicalutamide will increase.
