Sandalore - Chemical Used In Perfumes To Mimic Sandalwood Triggers Growth?

50 years old.

1 month ago received Sandalore off Amazon. Didn't smell much. Mixed in old minoxidil spray mist bottle. Filled 40% of bottle rubbing alcohol, added 2 drops sandalore, 2 larger drops olive oil, shook and let sit overnight. Next day topped remaining 60% of bottle up with bottled water.

Shake bottle and spray mist my temples twice daily. It does smell when you spray it. Dries in about 10 minutes and scent goes away. Does not leave hair sticky or messy.

A few days ago was in a hotel with a dressing table mirror near a large window. Came out of shower, dressed and bent over to brush hair in the mirror and sunlight showed my temples are lit up with peach fuzz. Less than 1/8 inch long but did show me it is at least doing something. Will keep on keeping on.
Did you take any “before” pics? If not, start taking some to document any progress

I changed my dose to 0.5% in minoxidil today. My hair has been decimated recently by SOMETHING. See how it goes.

1 Month in at 1% (99% ethanol).

Went through a huge shed around Christmas and currently I am shedding A LOT less.

For the last few days I notice that I spend less time covering thinning areas. Hair has been looking pretty good now. Could be the result of using different hair products in my routine (conditioner + styling product) though...

I have also used the dermapen every 10 days at 1.55 mm since the start of this year.

I find all this fascinating and the slow move towards a scientific approach is fantastic, as already stated mines been a bit of try everything.

So here are some random thoughts and suggestions as I now begin to apply a scientific approach. (most of the lazy people here will never read this again once we get past page 85 and this is probably the reason they're bald, their hair can't be arsed to grow)

I'm taking this approach now as for the first time in 3 months, I believe there are new thick, dark brown hairs emerging, not many, but enough to warrant a little optimism.

My massive bald spot had definitely become less populated with hair since 'Start Hair Improvement Transformation' - if only there was an acronym for this.... anyway. Like the remedies, my photographs were also inconsistent and inconclusive.

So after a couple of days of using an E45 cream mix, I realised that all of my main methods will result in a considerable variation of how much Sandalore actually ends up in the right place:
Oil-based concoctions - Till now, this has been my prefered approach but the effect is rather greasy and makes thinning hair look even thinner (might apply to my waistline). But over the last week, I had been applying via a small spray bottle (coincidence that new hairs showing now?).
Coconut cream - easy to mix, keep with you and most pleasant to apply, but so little is needed as it stays on the surface that I doubt much Sandalore ends up in the right place to do its stuff.
Shampoos - pretty obvious really, and knew it at the time but clearly, most Sandalore must up down the plughole. But I find my DIY shampoos rather pleasant and it was more of a case, what harm can it do.

So here's what I am going to do from February 2019:

I will continue with the natural supplements and avoid all the commercial hair growth products.
I will still use a combination of my own DIY shampoos and off the shelf caffeine ones.
I will stick with 0.5% sandalore in applications of my own design and perhaps similar to others here (periods and approach to be decided)
The main application will be before bed and washed off in the shower the next day.
I will diarise my applications (not my strong point but will try).

Technically, my bald spot could allow for a half and half approach. :)

But here's the important one, I have found a way to take consistent photos and will improve on it the first chance I get - I have the Samsung S9, so the photos are pretty awesome. Using 2 rolls of scotch tape and the camera placed on top, I believe I can get steady (no blur) and consistent photos of my ozone copying bald area.

The truth is no one here knows whether we are on a fools errand or how much of the results we see are because of the Sandalore or the many other factors that can influence hair.

thank you for your contribution, Sir.
just to confirm, are you on ANY other treatment?

I'm making my topical today and want to be sure I'm doing this correctly. I'm going to mix .25ml of sandalore into 30ml of PG in a glass container and leave it to dissolve for a full day, then I'm going to pour in 30ml of 70% Ethyl alcohol into the mixture to create the final diluted product. Does this make sense?

0.25mL / (30+30) = 0.41667% . is this your desired concentration?
About the order it probably doesn't matter as long as you don't start with water. Both PG and EtOH are organic solvents so it's a matter of trying.

Just to give a little balance as it seems we're getting a lot reports of improvement, I've been on sandalore for two months and sadly things arent looking good. Have lost a fair amount of hair, and my scalp feels worse than ever. I started with 5 drops in 100ml of Ethanol and PG, then switched to 10 drops in Eth/Glycerine as I was thinking the PG was making me itch more. Didnt make much difference though, just think my scalp hates anything greasy on it. Mixed up some vanicream with 15 drops in 100g, and that too makes my scalp unhappy. Might lower the dosage of Sandalore as perhaps it's too strong for me.

Have just started putting zix on my head and hoping that will calm things down a bit.

Im also on finasteride (1mg a day) and have been for about 8 months. Def worse than baseline, so perhaps I'm just not a responder and have too aggressive hair loss right now.

Thinking i might hop onto trinov (do we think we can add sandalore to that?!).

have you confirmed miniaturization? hair fibre thickness, trichoscopy, etc
does it have any kind of pattern? diffuse? shedding?
I was a non responder to fina and only duta caused noticeable improvement effects.

I have a USB microscope, so can see all my little lovely hairs slowly thinning out. I'm diffused on top, and have a nw3/nw3a recession. Shedding has always been quite a bit, and my scalp has been itchy and sore since this all started about 10 year ago. Not much has really helped over the years. Been a slow gradual loss, and now it's getting to the should I shave it stage.

If I dont see any turnaround from these new treatments in 3 months then ill hop onto dutasteride. I'll be at the 1 yr mark then with finasteride.

I think fina maxes out its effect at between year 1-2
Sandalore probably will take longer time as well since you're not a typical fina responder, rather an aggresive case.
I suggest adding all you can (PRP, cetirizine, LLLT, minoxidil?) before moving to duta.

i don't think these formulas are accurate. ie, 1ml sandalore/100ml solvent isn't 1% sandalore.

you guys are all making the formula thinking 1g=1ml

only water has density of 1.00g/ml, ethanol is 0.7g/ml, who knows what densities for sandalor, PG, are...

so it isn't exactly 1% solution

when you deal with two liquids, volume/volume is used nearly all the times so we don't have to find out their densities.
So, 1% = 1 mL / 100mL
In order to avoid ambiguities "v/v" is used in the notation.

but when everything is converted to grams (mass), it no longer is 1%

Wait, so did you have a shed AFTER starting sandalore?

I’m definitely shedding noticed an increase today and it’s either the needling my scalp or more likely the sandalore I recently added. I’m never sure if it’s positive sign shedding or not, I will give it some more time though.

Didn't you call me a f*****g ape because I ripped on someone that was trying to spam a website on here or something?

Anyway. No I was shedding from not having any treatment for a few weeks. I started Sandalore on the 3rd of January and shedding slowed down around 2 weeks later. Not saying this decrease in shedding is caused by Sandalore btw. Just wanted to share my experiences so far. Will make a similar post next month about the current situation then.

I'm shooting for as close to .5 as possible, and I'm going with PG first because of the water in the alcohol.

Can I get a quick show of hands from everyone using sandalore in minoxidil?
