It smells and it doesn't dry. You don't want that all over your head. Get the 2% for your head (I haven't tried that yet but I am planning on it) and use the 5% for the problem areas (hairline, big bald spot, etc.) because u won't like the feel of it.

Fluridil gets props around here as anti-androgen. It's either that or spironolactone from what I can tell. spironolactone is alot cheaper.

I've seen some pics here (if they are for real) which make me think topicals do work very well.

I'm guessing the people who recommend finasteride just liked the results they got, the ease of which they got it, and didn't experience many (if any) side effects.

I ws not implying that, but people here have talked about sides with minoxidil. (Puffy face, increased heart rate, sweating.)

5% spironolactone cream is the strongest heavily proven topical anti-androgen. RU58841 is 10 times as strong as spironolactone, but little research has been done to find the best delivery vehicle. Right now people just use 50% alcohol, 50% PPG and get good results. If you could get the same concentration in your scalp as you have DHT, alone it would as strong as proscar 5mg. But I have not seen any estimates at how much gets down in there.

The cream is much better than the liquid because it does not dry, and keeps sending more spironolactone into the skin for hours. spironolactone gets metabolised into a much weaker anti-androgen, and looses its effect that way when it is a liquid, especially after the liquid drys and stops putitng more in.

Eucapil has not been tested by people other than the manufacturer and the scientists it hired. I think fluridil is stronger than both flutamide and the stronger metabolite, hydroxy flutamide, but both of those are much weaker than spironolactone. The nice thing about fluridil is it evaporates in less than a minute and you only have to apply it once a day. Twice a day is not better. I have some. The applicator was hard to use, so I just poured it on my head. The 2mL can easily cover the front of your head.

Yeah, I agree about the minoxidil. It increases hair weight 30% while you use it, and you loose all that very fast when you stop, and end up where the placebo is without minoxidil, like you had never taken it. It is a bit anoying, so if you want to keep what you have, you don't really need it, and if you want more mass, definitely use it. I do think it does protect blood vessels somewhat, and works synergistically with CP's for preventing some damage or stopping some attacks. I use it for that reason. I think the 2% is just as effective at that as the 5%. I just dilute the 5% 50-50 with rubbing alcohol and add a tiny amount of flax oil to prevent drying.

thanks for the reply. i was actually hoping to grow some back since alot of my hair loss is due to extra dht that is not always present. this is because i supplement with large body building dosages of testoserone. i figure if the estra dht isnt present and im using spironolactone alot should grow back. i have a friend who stopped testosterone and he grew it all back with out spironolactone from just stoping. so i hope the spironolactone helps.

i know you aren't going to like the answer, but stopping the t would be the best thing possible for your hair.

just remember that finasteride and minoxidil are the only two things period certified by the FDA to regrow or maintain hair. Nizoral was shown to have regrowth potential equivalent to that of 2% minoxidil but is not FDA certified. However, it does have great anti inflamatory qualities. that is why those are considered the big three. I think you should try one or a combination of those before anything else.

you sure are lucky. when i first joined the forum, i was first ignored. Then was told to use the search button located between the FAQ and Memberlist. I ended doing the opposite of what you did. I did research then i got help to get me started on my regimen.

gotta say i dont have a whole lot of sympathy for someone who seems to have lost their hair loss through using bodybuilding supplements, AND continues to use them.

he said he is depressed without the testosterone. low levels, perhaps? if his doctor prescribed it, then he probably has a good reason.
