Scared to try finasteride? How often can I use 2% Nizoral? Is it worth trying Saw Palmetto?

Hello I am 18. Started to notice recession at age of 16 and over the past nearly 3 years my hairline has gone from a Norwood 1/1.5 to Norwood 2. my crown is still fine.

Considering taking finasteride but scared to because of my age and development; also medication interaction.

Currently trying out nizoral? Can I use this daily? I might try saw Palmetto. What's your thoughts? Thanks.

About Saw Palmetto? It doesn't necessarily have fewer sides than finasteride depending upon how much you use. I mean eh to herbal imitations of real meds. None of them work nearly as well and they just distract us but if you are only just starting to bald, serenoa could be marginally helpful maybe.

Oral Saw Palmetto gave me bad back rash.....

I tried these thinking I would gain more hair, instead I had bad extreme back rash and read that is the side effects from oral saw palmetto. When I discontinued my rash vanished in time....

Would taking say 0.5mg finasteride still be as effective as 1mg but less likely for sides.

It's the permanent long term side effects that some people get that's worries me; I am usually sensitive to medication.

Well, guys titrate upwards and downwards from 1mg, I think it is. I switched to dutasteride. You can potentially minimize sides by titrating downwards to the least amount that is effective at blocking DHT. Some claim that mega doses work better which I have never tried while others say that very low doses stop enough of the relevant DHT to be effective. You know what's really effective? Wow to regrowing a full head of hair at 56 and being able to wear it long and look decent. I am impressed with myself anyway and this is what's possible:

Titration is our friend with any medication. Many times folks who say that they can't tolerate something or that they have sides, without titrating downward.
