Yes, it is very similarWould buzzing to a 1 or 2 mm length every 2-3 weeks be as bad as shaving?

I'm only speaking from personal experience of friends and colleagues. Never known a single person to buzz then grow back out and it not be in a worse condition. But fair play if that's how yours is everyone's different.Absolutely wrong. Whenever I buzz my head my hair grows back thicker for a few months afterwards. When my hair is buzzed I am able to really massage my head with ease. Once the hair grows back I slack on the massage because it’s harder to perform with hair and I begin to shed after a couple of months. I’m buzzed again now and massage everyday. Already my scalp hurts less after a week.
I agree. Whenever I buzz my head I'm free from all kind of inflammation and my hair does grow back thicker. Then I start shedding like a mad dog months after...Absolutely wrong. There's a lot of variables, short hairs will always be initially thicker anyway or at least give that appearance. Same with healthy hair, beard hair etc.I agree. how many hairs were you shedding per day to lead to that?My scalp used to be really oily years ago with a lot of dandruff as well but since I've started using Nizoral 1-2 times per week it's been quite normal. In fact would nizoral not help to an extent in this situation as it has been shown to significantly reduce sebum on the scalp?
I also have buzz cut multiple times while balding for the last 6 years and have not noticed much change in thinning. Recently however I went through a massive shed that decimated my hair (had medium long hair during) and now pretty much have to buzz every 2/3 weeks because of how bad the hairline got.
No, it definitely was a problem to me too. In 2020 my hair was oily within hours after washing, it was a complete nightmare. It devastated my hair more than anything else. Gladly, for whatever reason, the oiliness (excessively) went away. I can stretch washes if I want, but I usually end up getting dandruff or whatever, so I keep washing it every day. There's a lot of variables, short hairs will always be initially thicker anyway or at least give that appearance. Maybe sebum not a problem for you guys, but it is for me. My scalp has always been oily, but I've not lost any hair in last 10 years although still diffuse. Slowly showing progress last few months by keeping it dry, avoiding oils and recently removing gunk from blocked pores. I've never shaved down to buzz cut.
I'm certain if I shaved down oil would be harder to control and I'd end up slick bald fast. But everyone's different
I find if I over wash with regular shampoo it makes my hair more oily and assume its due to chemicals causing more sebum to be produced. I wash less regular now with SLS free shampoo, or just rinse with water sometimes with magnesium sulphate/chloride and dead sea salt. Seems to helpNo, it definitely was a problem to me too. I dont want to confuse the theory of blocked pores and sebum build up preventing regrowth with Shaving down causing baldness. I dont think buzzing down is bad for everyone, but I'm sure excessive sebum can cause huge problems and some people who shave down to the bone might be making it worse as no hair for the sebum to absorb into.My scalp used to be really oily years ago with a lot of dandruff as well but since I've started using Nizoral 1-2 times per week it's been quite normal. Glad your experience with SLS free shampoo has been favorable, unlike mine, that gave my scalp a layer of sebum that took me ages to get rid ofI find if I over wash with regular shampoo it makes my hair more oily and assume its due to chemicals causing more sebum to be produced. Also the witch hazel I started using last week (to help with clearing blackheads and blocked pores) seems to have really reduced sebum, but without drying out. Hair is not oily at all since using this stuff. Far to early to say if it will help long term but everything I read oline regarding witch hazel seems to be positive in regards to hair.
Also literally zero noticable shedding, although my shedding has been very low already for a few months since jumping on MSM as well.

He shaved his head because he was doing a daddy and son gay porno scene. Older jock mounting a twink boy is the name of the video. This makes me wonder how many hair follicles that seem alive and well are actually just living on borrowed time. Why did you shave your head in the first place, OP?
This is what I'm losing per day in total. Wonder if I should be concernedA lot. We're talking 50-60 hairs in the sink every time I applied minoxidil. Shedding has decreased now and I see 10-20 generally. I attribute the nightmare shed to minxodil losing effect as i was already using it for a year and two months with somewhat decent results. Now my temples are pretty thinned out so longer haircuts no longer work for me. Luckily I have a nice head shape and features so the buzz look actually suits me. Still would prefer to keep my head from going slick bald though.
I'm doing same massages but with the witch hazel in place of the essential oils.SLS free shampoo everyday for myself. I’ve added some essential oils such as peppermint and rosemary. I used to have to use nizoral a couple times a week otherwise my scalp would begin to itch(seb derm I think) but the organic shampoo and essential oils has stopped that. I massage 5 minutes a day in the shower with the shampoo foam on my head. I press my fingers as hard as possible into my scalp and glide them in all directions. My fingers are in pain but I can hear crunching in my scalp. This maneuver works so well and my scalp hurts less the following day. Give it a try if you buzz down to a few mm.
That is the only negative of using only SLS free, it doesn't clean scalp properly. I find the dead sea salt does this though, clears scalp build up and doesn't seem to affect sebum if anything it lowers it imo.Glad your experience with SLS free shampoo has been favorable, unlike me, who gave my scalp a layer of sebum that took me ages to get rid of
