I mean you live in London, they should at least tolerate it tbh. But the value of property everywhere is going nuts. We really have been shafted by wealthy boomers.
I'm lucky I inherited a nice place from my parents, because even a small appartement goes for nearly 500k here. Many of my friends are still doing the co-housing thing or staying with their parents to save up.

I was looking to rent a 1 bed flat next month , average rent prices here £1300 a month (thats starting) , add in the bills and general living costs I worked out that I would be forking out £3200 a month

I can afford it but it means I cannot save anything , basically end up forever renting

in contrast , living at home saving £2100 + a month , in 8 more months staying at home I can save nearly 20k , and have nearly 10% deposit for a 1 bed flat (300k on average here)

People don’t seem to understand how difficult it is for single people

if I had a choice I wouldn’t live at home

what annoys me is where you have people that live in other cities where rent is dirt cheap thinking the same applies to London

on my salary I could live like a king in every other city in the uk, probably rent a mansion but I want to build a life in London

That's the price you have to pay to stay in the city though. Can't you move further out and commute?
Most of the people I know that actually managed to buy left the historic centre. Easily a 100k/200k difference for the same property

nah it’s across the board
I looked at 1 bed rent prices in Kingston for example , same price but increased travel fare (zone 3)

yes if I rent in Norwich or in a commuter city, it might be cheaper but at that point you are not living in London anymore so what’s the point plus increased travel fare

What puts me off is the commute , I work in the city center , don’t want to spend hours of my life commuting and paying a fortune of travel

You have the choice not to live in one of the most expensive and ugly cities of Europe.

That's true tbh. You're paying a premium without having the actual appeal of living in the city. Isn't Engand pretty expensive everywhere? ( the South at least)
Around here the difference between the cities and the sticks is incredible

london is crazy , but for my industry is the place to be

lots of people can’t even afford to RENT a 1 bed, to put into perspective , average salary is 30k, that’s 2k a month after tax , a one bed is 1300...do the maths

It's kinda dirty and overcrowded. But those are adjectives of every European capital. Still better than Paris though. That's a cesspit for the most part. Squatters living in an open air museum.

And the less said about Bruxelles the better.
I was only in Berlin a few times, but it didn't appear as bad as some make it out to be tbh

true, but I’m a native Londoner, that grew up here and feel a sense of belonging here

also you get less racist c**** than other parts of the world - it’s incredibly multicultural and the reason why I do well dating

whenever I travel to Europe , I experience more racism on average

went to Barcelona , heard some German women outside of the night club being racist for being Indian

never hear this sh*t in London

Vienna is nice. But overall you are right, cities in Europe suck. They are dirty, provincial places with small commieblocks as main architectural style. The 'trick' is not to live in a polluted, expensive place with higher crime rates and chill on the countryside instead.

Indeed.

And to be blunt, the competiton you're facing is pretty soft. The dreaded "English teacher" stereotype in Japan is pretty accurate more often than not.

You worked there?

My gf has a flat in the city centre of Osaka where we used to go every year ( before the wu flu hit at least). The summers are unbearable for me though. The humidity kills me. The sticky heat together with the uncessant chirping of the cicadas is like the classic impression of a Japanese summer. Very nostalgic however tbh
you do not want to listen to cicadas ever summer...

Those little bastards do make a lot of noise, and in the beginning it's a little unnerving. But after a while it fades into the background and becomes part of the atmosphere. And now I actually miss that sound because it reminds me of carefree times.

The humidity though, that's something I never get used to. The heat seems to clog your pores. I prefer a drier Mediterranean summer but it is what it is

Though as @disfiguredyoungman has already said, it's a very very beautiful country. Obviously it's completely different to any western country in most ways you can imagine ( in culture and geography)

You should visit it some time my guy, if you haven't been there. It's worth it

Miyazaki likes them. :p

Cityslickers are just retarded. They unironically prefer the sound of a rock drill and cars over the sound of children, water or cicada. I will never understand this mental misalignment.

He probably likes the sound of airplanes more, though.

which miyazaki?
The one who repeatedly features cicadas in his environmentalist and pro traditionalist movies? Not the one who made Dark Souls.

It's better this way, they can be progressivist, infertile gaijin cityslickers in their provincial commieblock shitholes. Tokyo should be completely eigo sensei free (except for me, I deserve a cute Japanese gf).
