If everyone was as stupid as OP we would be still living in stone age with such a mentality.

What exactly makes him stupid? The fact that he continues to enjoy his life regardless of hair loss? You, sir, need to get a life and stop playing a victim. Half (if not more) of the men in the West are balding or straight-out rocking a horseshoe. They have jobs, wives, kids, jobs and holidays. Life keeps going on. You are not unique at all. What is perhaps unique about you is the way you are taking your hair issue to the extreme. Get a life!

@OP, I completely share your notion. I have been there and seen it all too. Life is good as it is. No doubt that it would be better with a thick head of hair, but as long as we can't change anything (or maybe inmyhead can change with his constant moaning on the Internet?), the best is to just keep going, happily, with what we do have. :)

I can't speak for inmyhead, but I interpreted their post to suggest that indifference to the idea of a possible solution will never lead to a solution.

Also where exactly have you been ? And what have you seen ?

Seemingly you feel all the more wiser for accepting your fate and assuming there is nothing you can do about it (not really, your'e using finasteride and dealing with the sides.) It's no one's place to say who can and can't worry about their appearance and self-betterment for their own reasons. Further more as a long time fina user it wouldn't make sense for you to reinforce the idea that anyone should give up especially considering people 'solve' their hair loss on this board every year. People like idealforhead would have never found their solution if they didn't set aside the time and money to figure it out. "Get a life" you've been on this board for 8 years and "You are not unique at all" (the equivalent of just shave it bro) is all the advice and rebuttal you have to offer ?

"They have jobs, wives, kids, jobs and holidays. Life keeps going on." - this sh*t makes you sound incredibly boring and normal tbh.

"Welp. It's been about 14 years since then and we're literally no closer today then we were when I was 16. Like not closer at all. These same threads that exist today about new stuff 5 years out also existed in 2006 with the exact same claims and promises.

Conclusion: this things not getting cured no matter how awesome these companies make their projects sound "

He just doesn't have any understand of progress of science. Just a typical guy who expresses his opinion based on his feelings. We did learn a lot during this time. Science is incremental.

Hey Rob, unfortunately most people don't realise the shear number of years and significant amount of money and testing that has gone into every single product available on the pharmacy shelves today. A single drug from discovery to approval takes on average 10 years and US$1 billion to make it to the market. Tbh, it's an astronomical feat for a company to get a drug to the market. If you don't know this single fact and you are eagerly waiting for a new treatment, 14 years may seem like a century but in the pharma world it's not that long at all.

To say "No closer today compared to 14 years ago" is a huge misrepresentation of the facts at hand. For starters, we are mere months away from a regenerative cell therapy becoming available in Japan that has shown both safety and efficacy. In Phase 1, majority of patients saw >10% increase in hair density at six months post-injection and maintained this density 24 months later. No adverse effects were reported during and 5 years after the treatment. We have a product that can stabilise and halt hairloss after a single treatment session! This is pretty much a cure for those below NW3, a huge relief for those in the NW4-5 and a cure for those about to lose their hair.

This is what everyone has been begging for on these forums...get happy and excited :) things are finally turning out for the better for us.

Down the track, a topical DHT-suppresant is also in the works due to be released in 2021. And our brothers in the NW6-7 category may even have their prayers answered by Lord Tsuji himself in the 2020s.

ok so this has got me pretty f*****g pumped

i know its been talked about a bit over the past couple weeks but just to clarify.....

if this treatment does come out, will it be available to foreigners? if not how long will we realistically have to wait before it is?

do we have any solid info on this?

AFAIK, only 5 treatments have undergone accelerated approval in Japan and no one seems to find any info on patient selection criteria post-approval. Probably because it's all in Japanese.

I think once Phase 2 trial is completed and Shiseido releases their official statement on trial results, we can arrange an interview and ask this critical question.

TBH though, in almost all trials and studies, some patients go AWOL or never return for follow-ups etc. It's not a big deal. Also, Japanese regulatory body's soul purpose is to protect Japanese citizens from any harm, hence the need to keep track of patient's health status, etc. I don't think, they'll care as much about companies providing these treatments to foreigners. Especially since, medical tourism can be a great boost for the country's economy. But we'll have to wait and see.

People get those confused way too much.
Too, too much. Is still don't get why DUPA shouldn't be of androgenetic causes tho. And if people with DUPA go 100% bald. I still have to see people with not a single hair on their head

You mean DUPA? Or retrograde with diffuse in top? Cause they are two different things

Diffuse retrograde meaning that you’re (I’m) thinning all over including the sides and nape of my neck. I also have traditional recession and a huge irregular shaped vertex bald spot on top of that which is 85% bald. Even my f*****g SIDEBURNS are thinning/becoming smaller horizontally. Not sure if DUPA is the same thing or not.

He is right though, face it male pattern baldness won't be cured for another 20 years minimum.

just go back to the first page of this board, page 155.
there were people who were absolutely convinced the cure was coming out next year. people back then posted "we have learned so much about male pattern baldness, we are on the cusp of curing it" when infact we know nothing about why it ultimately happens, and we have learned very little for the last 30 years about it. the only progress has been in workarounds e.g. hair transplants.
i was flamed and disliked for posting that Brotzu would be a bust, and then they brought out that mediocre press release.
