I certainly will cause I kind of consider this to be my journal. As expected there is nothing to report 20 days in, I mean when it comea to stopping hair loss.

As of side effects, slightly wattery sperm.

Okay so 1 week in, I'm experiencing weaker erections and slightly watery semen. But nothing harsh, also I do manage to maintain erection it's just a little bit weaker.

As for hair, no changes. Not that I've expected any so soon.

Here is your first major problem Why are you here posting this? Your taking on a LIFE long battle what happens in 1 week means nothing. You should not even be on here anymore until 1 year or more before posting any changes unless you have major sides.
So your problem is worrying about it still

Hey Wolf Pack and abcdefg what do you guys think about Avodart? Do you think if I try it and the sides are bad It could just be dropped and a person would go back to normal? It seems like studies show finasteride sides to be just as common as Avodarts. When I Wiki Avodart about 3 - 15% might experience sexual problems and 3% could see gyno, but unlike finasteride, a very small portion of men around 1% didn't see the sides leave after stopping Avodart. Whenever I ask a Derm they tell me there isn't enough research, but then how is it approved in Japan and Korea for hair loss? Is Avodart something that will be approved you think in the US for hair loss in the next 5 years?

In medicine a lot of it is opinion because we dont know much about it. Personally after seeing DHT type 1 is involved with insulin moderation I wouldnt touch the stuff. I dont think the health risks are worth hair. Heck I avoided finasteride for 10 years! I am only going to try .25mg of finasteride because I see a visible bald spot confirmed by a doctor as male pattern baldness. Stick to finasteride, and use it for the next 5 years until someone else is out. There are ten years studies on finasteride but not dutasteride. There are men on finasteride for almost 20 years now. Its pretty safe. dutasteride lacks the same safety data. I wouldnt use it.
Finasteride has time on its side. We have data proving its safe for quite a long period. Nothing can replace this in medicine because we cant predict what things will do. Dont be a guinea pig

"Dual inhibition of 5αRs, but not inhibition of 5αR2 alone, modulates insulin sensitivity in human peripheral tissues rather than liver. This may have important implications for patients prescribed dutasteride for prostatic disease."

Quick update:

Shedding like a b**ch. I'm loosing a lot of hair and it's visible. Not sure if it's the "expected" shedding or my hair is just getting fucked up.

Hope this stops.

Around 1 month update. Pretty much nothing, except I feel my hair is a little bit healtier.

Besides that, still shedding, still itching.

Okay so almost 2 months in, no improvement. Which is not a problem since I'm aware I need at least 4-5 months to start noticing something. Still it bugs me that my scalp is still a bit itchy and very oily. Also hair quality did not improve at all.

Will update again in a month or so.

This is the HARDEST PART, but it's what separates a success story from a buzzcut.

IMO you should give it longer than 5 months. My shed started at month 3-4 and didn't end until month 8-9.

Id wait until 12 months or even longer like 1.5 or 2 years. Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better, and sometimes it can take a lot longer than average to see results. I would not drop it unless your really sure you gave it shot and saw nothing

Guys of course I will go at least for a year as long as there is no side effects. It's just weired that itching is still persistent, and scalp get oily in a day. I kind of thought that lower DHT would get me rid of this till now at least.

Anyway, will wait and hope for good results.

Coming close to a 4th month mark. Pretty much everything the same. Still having oily scalp, itchy at times and losing hair at the same rate.

Will wait for a bit longer but starting to lose hope
