DHT is awesome tbh, just not for hair follicles with the balding gene
Wasn’t the consensus that after puberty it’s serves no purpose and is a trash hormone? Or do you think it helps achieve strong dick blood circulation? Lmao there were times I felt my erections weren’t as buff while on finasteride.

I might wanna use this thread as my own personal record of my hair growth process, because my gallery is full of trash memes and sometimes it's hard to track. I think i have NW5(?) Because the temple so deep, the crown literally bald and slight thinning in front top till temples.
Treatment i am using right now:
Topical minoxidil once daily - for 2 months
Biotin 5000mcg daily - for 2 months
Finasteride 1mg daily - about a week ago

Dermaroller 0.5mm:
Before i am going to bed, and after im taking shower in the morning on the crown, (pressing as hard as possible)
Roll every 2 days on temples, this sh*t is pain. Kudos to people who go 2mm or more.

The temples is not like in the photo before doing the treatment (there's no hair texture or somewhat), now it has more small soft hairs.

Maybe will update every 3 weeks is good enough for tracking my progress. I regret for neglecting my shedding when i am 20, now i am near my 22

You said you Dermaroll "every 2 days", that is far too often. The most you should be Dermarolling is once a week.

Microneedling any more than once a week can actually be counter-productive which could result in worsening of your hair because you need to be giving your scalp enough time to heal.

No, that is not the consensus. Basically, it probably isn't as important as testosterone, and DHT is MORE important during puberty, but I do not view it as useless or a "trash hormone". Also, you can nuke your serum DHT levels, but so long as you have sufficient serum testosterone, the tissues will still convert some of the serum testosterone into DHT when the enzyme is present locally. That is why you can nuke your serum DHT by 98% with dutasteride, yet still only have 40-50% of scalp DHT. Also, it seems that androgen receptor sensitivity increases after puberty and is one of the reasons testosterone diminishes after puberty. This means you wouldn't need as many androgens to get the same effects; basically you become more efficient at using androgens. I'm not sure if the number of receptors increases but that might also be a reason for this. But I do believe there is some valid research on DHT benefiting sperm/semen production.

It is possible to do it very lightly without bleeding and benefiting from a regimen like that. Basically getting the scalp pink, similar to the effect of a scalp massage. SomebodyAlex has had great success with this method.

Yess but it's not like i push hard until it bleeds, just little power on it until it turned pink-ish colored.

But the difference between Microneedling and a scalp massage, is that a Microneedle obviously creates micro wounds and requires a lot more time to heal than a scalp massage.

If you don't give the skin time to heal before Microneedling again, it might be counter-productive.

It depends at what level of the skin you have caused damage. If you are only piercing the epidermis but not the dermal layer then there won't be any bleeding and recovery time for the epidermis is significantly faster. The advantage is that you are creating a canvas where a greater amount of topicals can be absorbed into the dermis. Now if you are wounding the dermis, you should take 1-2 weeks between each session. SomebodyAlex I believe started only doing the light rolling a couple times a week and eventually progressed to doing a little bit every day during his regrowth phase, but now that he's focused on maintaining he does it a couple days a week again. I think it's important to allow things to adapt over time, just like if you started working out for the first time. But eventually someone might benefit from building themselves up to daily needling so long as there is no bleeding.
