No, it's not drying. I don't know much about nizoral though so I'd speak to someone who's more familiar with it if switching is a good idea.

I started seeing significant results around November of 2010, which was 3 months after I started. At the 6 month mark-I saw incredible regrowth, especially with my temple recession. One thing I noticed was as I regrew a significant amount of hair, I would also shed a lot. Don't be alarmed by shedding or if you see any off color hairs grow in. minoxidil tinted many of my new hairs red or light brown.

I sure wish I could replace Nizoral 2% with this shampoo. nizoral does a HORRIBLE drying number on my hair and my scalp. It creates a big spectacle of just washing my hair. Darn.

minoxidil (espesh with finasteride) definitely works amazingly well for young guys in the early stages of thinning, I just wish I'd started earlier, nice results!
