I tried these types of tracking devices and they don't work very well - i just bought a real GPS tracking device with satellite connection that will definitely do the job. I also called the cops and they told me to file a report and provide all the details of all the missing items; but i won't file a report just yet - first i'll find out where the little f****r lives, then i'll file the report.

You need a disposable SIM card for those but it will definitely work

That's seller protection, unfortunately I am the buyer so it doesn't apply to me...

Dood.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/money-back-guarantee.html
"When a buyer doesn't receive an item
...
If the buyer isn't happy with the seller's response or doesn't receive a response, the buyer can ask us to step in and help.

If asked to step in and help, we review the information provided by the buyer and seller for evidence of successful on-time delivery to the buyer's address. We require proof of signature to confirm delivery for items with a total cost of $750 or more."

You're covered

I came to the same conclusion as you so I am only doing the bald piece - I'm also using invisible ink to trace back to the thief if the thief is one of my neighbors. I'd rather make them bald in a butler way than make them green - it's the psychological anguish I'm going for more than anything.

How will you check the invisible ink...?

By the way I dunno if there are any Better Call Saul fans out there, but a major subplot of this season has been similar to this, using a secret tracker to figure out who someone is.

UV flashlight - basically if whoever picks up the box goes into one of the apt complex's buildings i will be able to know because the doorknob(s) they touch will glow when you shine UV light on it. This will also be helpful because the GPS unit accuracy can be questionable but the invisible ink will narrow it 100%. I also plan on checking the cars parked in the lot since the invisible ink will stick on the thief's hands for days and if they live in my apt complex i can then determine which vehicle they drive.

The only thing missing is a camera i can mount outside that can record the perpetrator taking the package - that would be ideal but i haven't found one i like that can do the job... I have noticed that the packages that get stolen are all delivered around 12PM, which tells me it is possible the thief is doing this on a certain routine so it may be easier to catch them on camera...

Get one of those old VHS security cameras, with tape you can record for hours or even days and it's very cheap.

I got myself a hunting camera that is triggered by motion that should do the trick; just gotta find a spot to place it that won't be noticeable. This is costing me quite a pretty penny, but at least i'll put an end to this sh*t. I have:
- 1 package with hair conditioner (really nair hair remover) - this is a $4 bottle of conditioner, i don't think they will try to sell it because it is not worth it so it is possible they will use it
- Invisible ink + UV flashlight - will put the invisible ink powder all over the package
- 1 GPS tracking device that i will insert into an old router (they will just think it is a normal router) and put it in the box as well
- 1 motion activated camera that will take pictures of the whole thing

If the package disappears i will track it via GPS and look at the camera to see if any photos were captured. If the GPS tracks it to in my apt complex then i will use the UV flashlight to determine where the thief lives. Then i will take the photos, the GPS location and either call the cops or play some evil pranks on those fuckers.

If, for some reason, the GPS fails and the camera doesn't get a good photo or the invisible ink shows up nowhere, then i will cross my fingers and hope they use the hair conditioner and ruin their next few weeks.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just take the day off work and nail the perp yourself?

Hmmm, good point. It didn't even occur to me, it probably would be way cheaper.
But this way there's evidence and then the cops can do what they need to do...

Well, you don't want to chase the thieves yourself, this way you can call the cops and they will be caught red-handed with your goods.
