By Clinical Application in humans in 2019, does Dr. Tsuji really mean the treatment will be out? Because that's what it sounds like in that emaill he sent @Noisette.

Or does it mean that results will be published and trials will commence?

Either way, March 2019 is like Now! And the progress is real.
At this point, sometimes I wonder if it's a good idea to make some kind of long-term plan around this.... and that's saying something.

Trials. Release is expected probably late 2020/early 2021, if everything rolls smoothly.

I don’t want to get my hopes up too high because the disappointed will actually push me well over the threshold of madness, but this is pretty awesome. It is the most legitimate potential cure for hairloss yet, that is, totally new hair follicles and hair that are naturally yours, but fresh and unaffected by alopecia. Crazy. I wonder if you would still need to take antiandrogens to prevent the new follicles from becoming dht sensitive/affected?
Also I hope they start doing this with internal and major bodily organs because I would rather fancy a new set of ovaries please and thank you.

The new follicles will be taken from the back of the head where they are DHT resistant so you shouldn’t lose them or need any meds to keep them. In a female’s case I would assume they’ll just take it from a spot where you’re not losing hair and you should be fine.

This is the first step towards cloning organs. Technically a follicle is considered an organ, the smallest one, and being that it’s not needed to live (we would all argue different!) that’s one of the main reasons they have started with follicle cloning i.e. if they f*** up no one will die, they hope....

BTW, how come no hair transplant doctor is making any statement at all on HM or stem cell research. Dr.Bhatti in India said years ago that we can expect it in around ten years i.e. 2022. But I've not heard any other surgeon's opinion. Read somewhere that doctors are telling patients not to believe in all the hype. Don't know how true that is though.

Well I guess I’m fucked because my hairloss is everywhere

You never know they might find other ways to do things the more experience they get.

They’d only need 20-30 healthy follicles, you don’t think you have that at the least?

Depends on:
A: How long I have to wait
B: Whether or not my new treatments help me to regrow or maintain any hair

Isn't it obvious? They don't want to give anyone any ideas that make them hold off on having a transplant.

These people only deal in "ethics" when they think it's going to shield their *** from lawsuits.

Many people who would otherwise seek transplants will be able to go to something Follica or maybe even Shiseido if it turns out they can get a lot of regrowth.

No matter what "cure" happens, here is a scenario that will be very real: Plenty of people will have paid some insane price to take some party of out of the back and put it to business in the front just MONTHS, maybe even weeks before a better, quite possibly significantly cheaper, treatment hits the market.

If patients wind up being unaware, you can be damn sure the surgeons will keep it that way if they won't be offering one of the new techs themselves.

Agreed and obvious point. I also think a lot of them are oblivious to new research, and don’t think to even look at what’s coming down the pipeline.

While I agree that it isn't in a doctor's best interest to turn away a patient, I honestly believe it can't be said that docs aren't aware of developments in the field when they are this close. Sure, they may not know about topical citrizine and its effects, but if a guy doesn't know jack about Shiseido and Tsuji, then he's not a good doctor at all.

Someone should ask him whether getting thicker hair is an option, and if so, does it mean that they would manually remove the remaining hair follicles with the original thickness?

Already known to be true. This and similar techs (which aren't even as far along) give them pretty much complete control over all aspects of the follicle.

So i could ask for an average of 5 hairs per follicular unit with a diameter of 75 microns?
