But but... It is a shaved man with next to no loss...
I have a colleague today who has a long beard but a NW5. NOT THE SAME THING.
If you look closely he is actually quite diffused - the shaved head hides it quite well.

He has a good hair line so some may see him as a fullhead

Some facial hair is crucial when you suffer from hair loss.

It will provide some additional framing and prevent you from looking like a shiny smooth giant light bulb.

This is also the reason what will drive many bald men whose eyesight is barely impaired to get those huge square glasses.

"Don't look at my giant bald head, look here! Glasses! Beard! I'm not only my distracting disproportionate head!"
It's true, even in my position, a moderately diffused nw2.5, if I position my hair right, it looks, somewhat, only part way shitty. But with just a nice stuble (and i can't grow a proper full beard), it's looks tremendously better. Just the fact that I have MORE hair somewhere else on my head provides me with a look that's almost passable. It's the combination, in my case, of total hair volume (beard slightly diffused look happens to make the diffused head hair look more symmetrical) that's makes me look somewhat passable.

If I shave the 4 day stubble, all attention fires to my anemic thin head of hair. N the 5 head starts to look like a never ending staircase to the thin hair heavens

Observations on the diffuse clown quote interesting

Very good stuff in this thread, I could read it all day (but obviously it must not be easy to produce).

To be picky here I was thinking to myself "clowns are normally the curly rainbow or red NW1, right?" but no you were accurate with that too, especially as the image I had in my head which is:

But vitally, these are the "jokey" clowns, if we're specifically looking at the sinister "creepy" clowns you get a much different story:

I just saw dozens of images of clowns and literally 95% of the creepy ones are NW4+, sometimes slick bald but usually with a gross overgrown horse shoe.

I think the deliberateness of how hair loss is associated with creepiness in this example, are actually the one's who don't have the "clean" NW6 as above, but those with diffusing hair issues.

Why is this more blatant? Because someone went to the effort of thinking "instead of our normal way of either putting hair on areas or not, let's go out of our way to make his hair thinner, because obviously that inspires creepiness and dis-trust". There's a real intention there, and it's not uncommon when looking at these clown pictures.

But even the clown from IT, they re-imagined him as not clean NW6 with horseshoe, it's a more subtly "scary" (or attempt at) messy diffuse NW5:

Anyway I could pretty much write this much or more about most of the examples in your posts.
