a man who accepts his baldness will have a better quality of life than a man who chooses to use finasteride, because the bald man gets all the neural effects of DHT that give you that supreme sense of well being, whereas the finasteride user, although clinging onto his identity still, will invariably become a beta biitch in the process as per his 'calculated risk' (lol)

I was in the same boat as all of you. I know how important hair is to your identity. you're deluding yourself, hard, though, if you think that it's worth it. the difference is you can eventually get used to your baldness, and overcome it. so long as you're on finasteride, however, you're always going to be a shell of your former self.

Thats nice.

Too bad society doesn't get used to it and you're still treated like trash.

this guy, lol. you don't get treated like trash unless you're a defeatist clown that brings it on himself. the worst thing about balding is losing out on preferential treatment.

alright, life isn't fair, you have to work harder at making a first impression.millions of bald men have done it and been successful / happy. get over yourself.

What about RU guys. Is the side effects the same as finasteride? and is it just as likely to appear?

In a few years CB will render all this useless arguing about sides pretty irrelevant. Merk gave men the choice and everyone wanted the convenience of the oral pill and now everyone constantly complains about the sides and dangers.

Why are you spreading a pussified doctrine of self-loathing?

Please grab your nuts. I bet you don't even sing in the shower anymore. What's wrong with you guys?

What the hell are YOU talking about? Tell me, where did this "be proud, embrace your baldness" thing come from?
Did you ask to be bald? Do you wanted it in the first place? Obviously not. Then how can you be proud of something you didn't even do or ask in the first place. Your logic seems very confusing to me.

Almost everyone here wants to fight this disease with the only weapons we are given. If we had something safer, you bet your *** we would go for that. I'm curious, what if mother nature presents to you in the form of the hottest woman on earth and offers you two choices: f*ck her for 8 hours straight or recover your hair for the rest of your life. What would you do? I'm guessing you'd f*ck her all the way through and then live the rest of your life happily bald right?

I have no reason to defend this drug because I haven't even tried it yet, but I have high hopes. Trust me, if I happen to suffer from any of these things I'll be the first guy writing it off.
Just look at this (hey, this guy is actually showing his face!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3601_a2cabE

Strong straw man argument. You are not your hair, dumbass. Being proud of who you are is not the same thing as celebrating baldness in and of itself, it's having your priorities in order and choosing to still live a good life despite looking uglier, not being a pussy, which, undoubtedly, you are.

By far the dumbest, most useless, non sequitur pile of shiit I've read in a while. What does this have to do with anything?

It must be a good sport for you calling other people dumbass, do you feel any better? I never said I wasn't proud of myself. The only reason I want to fix my hair loss, it's just so I don't have to deal all of this social repercussions that I live day by day. I'm sure most people here accept themselves just the way they are but society treats balding people like sh*t anyways.

Now those above. I had a major point and I'm sorry your extreme case of ADD prevent you for seeing it.
Let me ask you a simple question, and please get back to me on this: Assuming you suffer from it, would you use the cure for hair loss if you had it in your hands right now or not? ...

Exactly, keep talking about accepting your baldness, dumbass.

It's very difficult to measure, so you'd likely get different values from various studies.

Concurrently, the level of DHT inside hair tissue is more important than scalp tissue, since this is what causes male pattern baldness in the first place.

It went something like this if I remember correctly.

0.2 mg 18% Finasteride
1 mg 21% Finasteride
5 mg 25% Finasteride
0.5 mg 48% Dutasteride
2.5 mg 75% Dutasteride

this sounds like a measurement of overall DHT inhibition. What about just type II? If dutasteride inhibits well over 90% of scalp type II dht like it does with serum how would it even be possible for male pattern baldness to progress while on dutasteride? These numbers are skewed because the scalp/tissue/whatever has a higher concentration of type I DHT in it than type II

I don't think even you believe that. But ok.

Lol. How does that relate in any way to what I said? Curing hair loss without any ramifications is so far removed from reality for men in our situation that it's a useless theoretical point to even consider, nor does agreeing that you'd prefer to keep your hair somehow contradict the decision to prioritize the rest of your well being over your hair.

I'll break it down for you one last time. You are bigger than your hair. Truly coming into your own, and being unapologetically proud of who you are is not celebrating baldness in and of itself, it's prioritizing the rest of your well-being, which both constitutes and determines a far greater portion of who you are presently and who you are to become as a person than your ****ing hair, lol. If you don't realize that, you won't be happy even with a full head of hair.

Which brings me to my next point, most of you guys have bigger problems than your hair loss :jackit:

You are right, a cure is far fetched from reality right now but it seemed far easier to put it that way. We do not have a cure and we have potential risks taking finasteride but we are willing to assume those risks because we have hope.

And sure everybody has problems; I can get fired today, my girlfriend could dump me right now, a relative can die which can lead to depression, etc. Any of those things can be far easier to deal with if you had hair (as superficial as that sounds). Everybody takes hair for granted until they lose it, you just can't underestimate what hair does to your physical appearance, confidence and self-esteem.

You are nothing more than a tool that has been brainwashed probably by the people surrounding you. These "citizens" are telling you that it is not a big deal losing hair and that you are so much more than that, while the women around you (who wear make up, bras, paint their faces, polish their freaking nails) go looking for a full head of hair to f*ck. You also have competition from other men, if not try your luck competing with an assertive, smart, young, full head of hair guy while picking up chicks and even getting a job, employers look for that profile to represent their companies.

I'm not trying to convince you, keep making excuses and listening to your peeps who have an astonishing lack of discernment but get the f*ck out of here then.

"What's wrong with you guys?"
Tell that to women like this: http://www.dearcupid.org/question/my-boyfriend-is-going-bald-and-i-hate.html

How many bald guys have been on the bachelor show that women obsess over so far? I will give you a hint its none. Bald guys are pretty rare on soaps or as strippers because its not an attractive trait even if it serves no functional purpose. I have heard many many girls talk about baldness and its never a good thing. That being said having hair is not some magical ticket to any girl you want there is way more than first impressions. I would say hair just makes it easier for first impressions and makes you look less creepy and younger. Most guys have their hair so its just being on even footing more than a major advantage.
I have heard baldness talked about on tens of occassions by many different girls believe me its more important to them than I think it is to us. Picture Elaine from seinfeld when she has that boyfriend that george likes a lot that finds out he is going bald. Its kind of true in a sense
