Man!! Too good, again. The perception you show with regard to social interaction really impresses me.

And your correct. I think so anyway.

Thanks much Blacg,
Your generosity is endearing.
But really my two cents is mostly guesswork,
anything else maybe worth mentioning can be attributed to my interest in personal growth and a life-long passion for better understanding. I try to appreciate all constructive and sincere debate. :)

That was more than guesswork I.D., at least when it came to what I was referring to because that's exactly what I was thinking of, which is why it's so horrific.

I mean there aren't many modern cultures that exist where people don't "annoy or harass" each other for fun or to show friendship, it's "banter", or "taking the piss", and I also take part in this regularly. But, and this is generalising but I would say for the vast majority of bald guys, baldness is where a line has to be drawn, if you can't draw a line anywhere then there's no hope for your self-esteem. I guess for the few guys out there who really don't mind baldness jokes, and retain self-esteem, they are lucky enough to be confident within themselves to be "above that"- that being said I can understand why many on here would feel that isn't being "above" anything at all, and this is fair enough.

Anyway, for this SlyBaldGuys poster, I can tell by the way he has to point out that it's a sign of friendship, he's probably a total beta-male and is just being openly mocked, his coping mechanism being that it's "just banter", his retaliations are probably pretty weak, about some sports team sucking etc. y'know, something that's completely inoffensive.

Oh, the horror...

Still though, those tits, that face, "zero sex appeal" my ***. And I even prefer her as blonde, but dayum.

Self esteem (positive) is imperative in maintaining healthy friendships. I found it fits hand in glove with sound judgment. I certainly agree that the greater security we feel within ourselves the greater the tolerance and trust is mutually conveyed among the company we keep. This is kinship. To be quite frank as an adolescent I never inherently knew this care free sort of confidence. When it felt like I was "coming into my own", hair loss aggressively struck and suddenly rocked me back to the cradle.

I am not checking out your *** H.I., so I'll take your word for it.
I think you'll see that it was brother Blacg's turn of phrase you've quoted. No worries I'm with you with C.S.
I think she is one sweet looking peach, but I think for some of us with a more openly eclectic appetite anyway , she is one variety among many I'ld be delighted to pluck from one tree of countless trees in a sprawling orchard that seems to stretch beyond the horizon. :)

I do find it funny that these guys think they are proving how secure they are with their hair loss, yet have to shave their entire freakin head once, maybe even twice every single day, and half of them have to maintain their goatees and beards as well to complete the look. Being actually secure is having thick sides and full horseshoe, that guy can at least claim it doesn't bother him.

I'm also noticing the amount of guys who call themselves "BBC" which I believe means Bald By Choice (which is hilarious because it just reminds me of Big Black c*** in p**rn terms- this site's like a parody) and it's actually a huge amount of posters, and often the most positive ones. It's like these guys must have empty lives, I mean we're all on here struggling with an admitted insecurity, and how to deal with it, whereas they have decided shaving their head is going to be this big new identity for them and they feel the need to promote something so stupid and simple, it's kind of ridiculous. It's like someone making a "SlyShadesBros" forum where people convene to take pictures of themselves wearing sunglasses, it's just so lame.

I can't find it now but there was a thread I saw earlier called something like "Do you actually like being bald?" there was not 1 freaking person who said no, every one of them just said it looks fantastic, they get more attention, people respect them, I mean this is ****ing fairy land. I think people on HairLossTalk.com exaggerate how much baldness effects a person in society (cocohot, Fred, would make you believe it instantly means you'll lose your job and home and end up in the gutter with your bald homeless comrades) but the guys on SBG's are on the opposite end of the spectrum. I always admit that baldness is going to affect you somewhat negatively in all ways, you may have to try a bit harder to be personable, something like that, and I think it's overly un-realistic and falsely positive to say there would be no affect whatsoever, but to say that it's a significant positive?! That's just plain stupid.

I mean ****, look at this one:

http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=25758.0

Pros: The rare situation you may find yourself threatened physically may be less likely to happen.
Cons: People are threatened by you; any sign of being remotely aggressive or even just frustrated means you'll be dubbed as having a "temper" including in the workplace; women will feel more threatened and those who are particularly sensitive or have had an unfortunate past experience will probably regard you as more likely to rape them; children will be scared that you might beat them because that's what the villains do in films.

Need I go on? These points are also exaggerating a bit, because these are not definitely constant issues, but by this guys own accord of saying "looking tough is cool!" there are definitely downsides to looking tough and of course, these will never get acknowledged in that ridiculous place.

I swear some of these guys are pretending to be bald by choice, check out this one

Hmmmm, suspicious lack of shading in that temple area.

And there's others who have written "I'm bald by choice but eventually nature took it's course anyway", ya, sure. And you never saw it coming.

Mass genocide against sly bald guys members?

Would be for the benefit of humanity. Nobody wants subhuman baldites clogging up the gene pool with inferior genetics. But then I guess we'd have to turn on ourselves afterwards too.

Well on the one hand it may be a little be deluded thinking you look better bald

On the other hand it doesn't really matter whether it looks good or not. If they can be happy with that look then that's great for them

I think the issue for myself and lots of people on this forum is we do not think we look good bald so we don't want to be bald

I know I look terrible bald , no question about it . And that's not something I can just accept. But if some people can that's great for them

I think there is no point going 100% sly nowadays. You can have SMP, which- when done at good quality will be ALWAYS better, than just shaving of. If you are shaving everyday, why not have SMP, which will give you atleast nice shadow - and with ripped body- it will give you the baddas look whereas only shaved head no.

And that comes from someone who used to shave too. At 23 yo. That reminds me comment from a female I didnt see some time to my shaved head:

Looks at me : you shaved your head? hmm you look different, interesting, more mature. Me: So you like my look? Her: Nah, Im really not into bald guys..walks away..

Thing is, would you ever want to be around a girl like that anyway? I know I wouldn't. I wouldn't care how 'hot' she was.

I would, If I had hair.) But the thing is, this girl is one of few (5) who told it straight to my face - the others didnt say it specifically, but the result was same.

So my answer to very popular consoling thing- "so what, the girl wasnt worth it if she didnt like you for who you are" Yes, sure, she inst, but when all girls act like that(they do in my case) , then what...

What is the age range of the girls? That one doesn't sound too mature.

I know personally from experience that when i have been depressed about hair loss and when i've had a shaved head i'll negatively filter everything (not one girl looked at me, not one girl reacted well etc), but the reality is that although maybe less girls found me attractive without hair, it wasn't 100% negative but rather just my negative filtering both forgetting the positive reactions and also me not trying because I just assume hot girls wont like me looking like that. It's easy to get dejected and blame it all on hair loss but when i go out i see my mates with great hair struggling to get girls and bald guys with girls. Nothing is ever black and white.

Another deluded victim of hopeless coping cueballs... aka slybaldguys

Guy could fight for his hair – he still has plenty of hair and, which is important, almost untouched hairline

He could be a bit above average with lowering bf, growing beard with minoxidil but chooses Norwood suicide instead...

He can ungrade on two points just with toppik in a matter of a few minutes

there was one BBC who was talking about how he got the shaving routine down to like 7 minutes, and he said "I wish I had male pattern baldness so it would be faster, haha. my dad and grandpa both had receding hairlines though, so I might still get lucky!"

:| i mean, that's just a new kind of defense. yeah buddy, i'm sure you were a perfect nw1, just shaving by choice because having hair is such a hassle. when nature destroys your defenseless follicles, you're all like "i wanted it to happen all along! yay! and i totally started shaving before i even knew i had hair loss!"

keep in mind, a small percentage of them might be genuine in their desire to disfigure themselves. for example there is actually a phenomenon where people feel body dysphoria because they have all their limbs, and they have an uncontrollable urge to become amputees. some go through with it. there was a documentary on Crazy Germany about this.
