The negative prejudice against baldness in Hollywood is pissing me off

Friends is one of my favorite shows, but I hate how they are so openly against baldness. They make fun of it at least once every 2-3 episodes, and every time a bald/balding guy appears he is always a loser, a pervert, or he is there to make a point about being ugly. I think that I will do a recopilation of those scenes and make a video about it, I could easily put together at least 15 minutes of anti-bald bombardment.

Yep, and it's almost always the bad guys. Austin Powers was another one due to Doctor Evil.

Wonder what would happen if they started casting overweight women as the evil villains in all these movies. There would be an uproar of protest against it, calling it dehumanizing travesty etc. etc. But hey, totally cool to shiat on bald folks.

That would be hilarious. Vanessa Felz as Dr. No.

i just watched the amazing spiderman 3 and guess what they did to make jamie foxx's character a loser?

a combover . . . .

Yeah I didn't quite get the reasoning for that other than to make him seem like more of a loser. Course Electro sported the bald cap but hey, losers are bald right.

Sounds like it. People sometimes forget I'm standing right there, and make comments about others like 'look at those bald losers, OMG such losers!'... They don't even know those people, but their first assumption is that they are losers.

But who knows... Maybe it's true. After all, bald people are deformed, everyone makes fun of them, women don't like them...

Someone should film a documentary on how baldness is demonized in our media and by extension our society. Certainly there is enough documented evidence in film and TV to more than support that cause.

A reality show following the daily lives of bald men and their struggles with ladies, work and finasteride/minoxidil. We would see them finally shaving it all off, hitting the gym and getting a tan, overcompensating with nice clothes and still getting nothing in return.

It'd be seen as a comedy. Let's not pretend that people don't laugh at men with hair loss.

Of course it would be seen as a comedy, just like my life as a bald man is. You would see Jacob finally shaving it all off thinking that he could pull the look and try to hook up with some ladies at the club with his nice fake tan and Armani clothes. Then you would see Mike trying to get it on with some chick only to not be able to perform due to finasteride sides (or maybe it's just in his head...), just cue the funny background music and green night vision cam with glowing eyes. Then Johnny would get painted dark eyes to simulate minoxidil sides, imagine the riot at the office thinking that he got in a fight, the show would be a smash hit.

And people complain about 'fat shaming'

Only fats and tumblr's complain about fat shaming.

I could understand if a person has some kind of glandular/health problem where fat just keeps getting stored or metabolism is extremely slow, but for the most part I have no sympathy for fat people.

Not comedy, serious documentary with an important message. Self deprecating shows about bald men never last a single season.

i couldn't bring myself to. He's probably being beaten around and mocked throughout the whole series with no one taking it seriously. i don't need to see that.

The Conan documentary. The evil execs at NBC are portrayed as bald.
Star Trek Movie (2009). Everyone has hair, except the baddie who is bald.

Should watch friends, went on for 10 years and not single one of them started balding/receding even slightly through out it's run-time. Though Matt Leblanc has recessed slightly to a NW2 in the new show episodes, what can you expect he is 47.
Yo fred you said seinfeld is rated the second best written show of all time, what is the first?

That is crazy blatant stereotyping
The bad driver at the beginning - bald.
The baddy company guy: balding.

Everyone else: good hair. WTF.

In Tranformers 2 there was a hue and cry about how two *robots* were being racist; in contrast the stereotyping against baldites is mind blowing.

Fred: could you tweet about the stereotyping whenever you come across it?
