Denial, Anger, Bargaining (a.k.a. Coping), Depression and finally… Acceptance: the five stages of grief. These stages are of course also applicable to those mourning their fallen hair. Surely everyone recognizes the denial phase: ‘nah, my hair isn’t really thinning, that photo was taken when I just woke up and didn’t have the chance to comb my hair properly, the light came in from an unfortunate angle etc. etc. This entire site thrives on the following stages Anger, Bargaining and Depression, as you can see from the threads in this sub-section of the forum ;).

Is it however possible for The Bald & The Balding the reach the final stage ‘ACCEPTANCE’, or are we left forever whispering ‘the horror’ to ourselves whenever we get out of the shower and look at our reflection in the mirror?

I'm currently in the sixth stage: sad frog memes. The last, liberating stage for an ugly, balding virgin incel. The seventh is cutting off my balls and let myself bleed to death, but only if I lose my job/money.
our day will come for sure ( the NO bald day)
just hang on a bit my frnd
i am in the fifth stage but the way the society is treating me i will be in the sixth stage like u.
i just wish the prime age of my life pass quickly and that i reach the age where baldness is accepted (after 35 or 40's)
killed my youth from top to bottom
GOTTA BE STRONG, seen enough. We r treated for a thing for which we were in no way responsible.
but like a coin which has two sides
our destination may turn out to be different from what we think now.

It's possible to keep pushing for improvement but also having awareness of one's physical and mental state - not just hair but everything. Some on the forum have reached this and did so early on, others have never reached acceptance of their situation and probably never will. Mixing between denial, bargaining e.t.c. Most people have the gift of moving forwards but knowing where they truly stand or came from - the sub forum is an exception imo.
This is very well-put.

This is why we need better treatments for regrowth (for people who are already bald/couldn't take finasteride/ aesthetic transplants). It's sad to hear people wanting to be older just to look "normal" with their hair loss. The identity and subversion of one's self in youth they have already given up on and lost. Sad.
well, i didn't wish to submit but society kind of forced me (their awkward looks - hey, u r going bald so keep ur limits)
I soon figured out that's life and reality.
that's y i like Captain Rex's character in the star war clone war show
it's hard to describe reality until u face it.

O Saint John, you Golden-Mouthed, you who had such hair recession, grant me the humility to accept my hair loss and become a living "icon" of God, through your prayers. Amen.

A+ level personality can beat any level of norwood
but there are some assholes who wud try to undermine ur personality too. ( a**h** things.....)
u know what baldness can be fixed but the disease of underestimating others over any particular thing so as to increase your own value in the society CAN NEVER BE FIXED.
This is the major reason why baldness makes us feel insecure.
u fix baldness, then there will be height issue and then there will be big nose and short nose problem and blah blah blah......
it's the f*****g society which is killing us.
but if there's a will, there's a way
i believe in this and that's where personality comes.
plus if within 5 years, they manage to find a cure, then it will be like a cherry on the top of the cake.

Truly a beautiful post… We can rely on the following, as is written in The Homilies of St Macarius: “(…) in the resurrection all the members are raised up, and not a hair perishes.”

Even the monks have perfect hairlines if you look at their front

(Unless they had maybe only recession on the back!)

Even the unjust are resurrected ,so I must decide, would I like to have hair in hell or heaven !

Maybe in fires it will be plucked for eternity for vanity

Convert to Islam, wear a hijab and get huge.

My friend has three wives at the age of 33. I ask him why, and he tells me because one gets jelous of the other, and for back up just in case of problems.

Cheating will result in death. Don't have to worry about partners not being faithful, and other men.

Don't have to worry about her comparing your tiny dick to others. Its her first.

No exposing hairline. Covered in hijab.

You should write books, your posts are incredibly entertaining, like American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis.

Hi everyone. I'm new here, and just want to know a few opinions on the state of my hairline. I'm early thirties and have always felt I had an issue with my hairline. I think it's a Norwood 2, I would just like some opinions from people who know more than I do (you lot). I've got curly hair, and combed it up and to the centre to reveal it "scraped back". Sorry about the colouring part of my face out, just figured I'd have it for anonymity. Thanks in advance for any opinions, and hope 2017 is a great year for everyone!

This is odd, I'd say your profile view is fine, but from the front I'd say you are etching towards being considered balding. It's worse from the front basically, and it's usually the other way round.

So at early 30's I'd say as things stand right now people do not consider you bald or even properly balding, and that's all that matters. However this process won't stop, and for some people baldness takes them by surprise and accelerates when you think you've passed a "safe" zone in life, so I'd still recommend finasteride and minoxidil to maintain.

Thanks for your swift reply. Is that a Norwood 2 at present? I've literally scraped it back as far as it will go in the photo.

Thanks again for your help
