The Social Stigma Of Hair Loss Treatment

This is kinda the question I was going to ask sooner or later. In particular if you are a married man with kids - wouldn't it be weird if your kids growing up noticed you rubbing minoxidil in your hair or taking pills for it. And this in addition to using nizoral and other new products that claim to regrow hair.

What would you tell them - don't worry son you'll be there one day too?!

And if you're not at the buzzed or really short hair point, and they notice you spend 15-20 mins combing (a.m hair gymnastics ritual) your hair in the morning to make it look good. Just think for a dad this would be weird.

One of several reasons I may opt not to have biological children, if it ever comes down to it

"Hey son, so I have this deformity on my head that's caused me and countless other men all sorts of emotional and psychological pain, and I knew there was a good probability of you inheriting it from me, but I decided to take the risk anyway"

At least if I adopt, and they go bald, their baldness will not be on my conscience.

Also don't think I'll ever apply minoxidil without the door closed. Incredibly undignifying act

Sooner or later they'll pull it out of the drawer, run down the stairs, and ask "daddy whats this for"

Just as you have guests over. You know Murphy laws

The only option is to fight in secret. Hope some day it will become normal. Millennials are the most concerned about hair loss. Those of my generation (Gen Z) will probably be those who will either get the Cure in their 30s or will make the fight mainstream.

It's a simple equation.

You're going bald? You're a loser.
You try to cover it up? You're a loser.
You shave it off? You're a loser.
You try to cure it? You're a loser.

Simple.

yeah, that's basically it.

"I am losing my hair, quick" - "oh son, no you're not. just wear a hat, you look good in hats or shave it, people shave it all the time"

(if I shaved it) -"God, what is wrong with you. Don't worry IT WILL GROW BACK"

"Finasteride fucked up my hair" Mom - "I told you not to take that, it has severe side effects" (pops some estrogen)

Then people are even surprised that some of us are developing sociopathic tendencies.

Please don't fuel up the Hollywood stereotype of the baldie. Try to be successful instead.

I am not Norwood 3 or 4, but if I were, I wouldn't still be a loser

As Hegel said, it's up to the others to define you. You may not be a loser, but who you are is decided by the society as a whole. If the definition of the self came only from within, we could be whatever we want to believe we are. I'm Napoleon.

Guess what's the role of the young bald man?

I thought you were 45 (if I am not wrong), are you not married, why stress you so much. (no offense)

I'm 21 lol (I hope you didn't think the pic is me. Right? It's George Soros, the eternal hair)

Wait until you get to Norwood 3+. Or get on treatments and pray.

Lol at social stigma.

People always discriminate, and unfortunately in life perception is everything. Doesn't matter what you say, it's what people see before they even get to know you.

Good observation, Dante. That's how most of society view the issue of hair loss.
Damn!! I'm agreeing with your *** again. This has to stop!

Yeah, this is largely true.
