I know what he says... He certainly cant confirm a need for mixing retin-a and anything over 2% minoxidil, as he believes that higher doses of minoxidil make retin-a's increased minoxidil absorption irrelavent. I use retin-a because there are a few limited studies that raise the possibility that retin-a may have hair growth properties on it's own. Not big or reliable studies, but studies. Anyway, it's a chance, but something Im doing is working and my scalp feels fine. Dr Lee sells a retin-a/5%minoxidil spray that I use a few times a week without problem. If he felt strongly about it im sure he would just refuse my money and not send me the product : )
Anyway, dr. Lee couldn't recommend the dutasteride that I'm taking either.
The fact is that combination treatments arent studied, and there are no studies proving superiority of minoxidil 15% over 5% (its just not studied). After you get past finasteride and minoxidil 5% you are kind of on your own... I accept that, but in my quest for Don King hair I am willing to push the limits.
