i've read some more stuff online. apparently, minoxidil doesn't help receeding hair lines... i have no idea why. does finasteride though?

and since it's a prescription drug, does it have to be ordered in for you specifically? or can you go to pharmacy and pick up a box?

where can i search for a local doctor as well?... i've tried local directories, but can't find one.

minoxidil can help with hairline, so can finasteride, but the hairline is the toughest part for regrowth, a lot has to do with natural maturation of the hairline as well

yes, if you want to get from a pharmacy within the US, you need a prescription, either propecia or proscar; however, online is not required by many sites (out of the country)

propecia.com find a doctor:

my hair line at the present is ok. so i'm not TOO worried about it. i know meds can't really bring it back, but are you saying it's harder to maintain? or is it just as easy to maintain, just harder to get regrowth at the hairline?

i just read on the site that propecia has not shown efficiacy at temples. does this mean the temples may continue to receed even if propecia is effective. or does it mean temples will be maintained?.

i know i'm asking alot of questions, but i don't want to be disapointed again. i want to know what i can expect and what area's to expect it in, if i am to try a new drug.

ps: website is for US only. i'm not in US. i'll try and find a local doctor this week or next week. hopefully i'll have finasteride scripted for me.

on propecia a greater percentage will just maintain (stop hairloss) however, a smaller majority will have some regrowth, i think its like 85:60% something like that...

they never did hair counting on the temples, therefor they cannot make the claim; however, most good responders (myself) do see some improvement on the hairline

a dermatologist is your best bet, a md who specializes in skin
