I think some of us (@shookwun, @Dante92 and another fellow suffers from this disgusting decease) needs to restrict themselves to enter here and another depressing places in internet for a month or two and see how our lives will change or not change.

Maybe we're really over-exaggerate all of this and there are a lot of things we still able to enjoy.

I noticed that I am becoming more and more mentally shifted after all of these topics and depressing conversations (it was very interesting though especially with @FredTheBelgium and @hellouser).

I wasn't a deluded coping loser even before I found out this brilliant subforum where I found out that I am not alone with this decease and emotionally it helped me. But even now after months here and another even more sad places (like lookism) when I am reading incoming stories from young suffers I can't handle it with calmness and situation is worsening.

It is also a WARNING for a newcomers or lurkers to read this subforum with caution.

So I forbid myself to enter here till 1st of August. Tomorrow I will check this thread again last time.

Maybe it is better for us to concentrate (cope) on another things like studying, working, meet a new people and maybe having sex (but now with LANDWHALES, have a dignity, bald mates, better call an 7/10 escort!).

I hope some of us will join me and after a breakout we will share in this thread (pls do not delete it, moderators) how that influenced us in good or bad matter.

Good luck!

I haven't even been here that long but this forum is transcending to fundamentalism, the worst possible example of reactionary tales towards baldness is regarded as being exemplary as the ultimate example of every single situation, 100% of the time. So of course that's depressing.

The reality? Baldness is of course very afflicting to a person, but if you read on here that it will affect every possible situation on your life and livelihood, that you won't get that job, or promotion, or even a house, based on the fact that society hates your baldness, then that is simply ridiculous.

I took mini-breaks from this place because I started seeing bald guys and something went off in my head, like they are other types of people, and that's when I knew that I needed to take a break. It worked, I'm re-adjusted and see things how normal people see bald guys, I wish you the same luck.

Like every other tool in the world, it can be used to help you or hurt you. I am definitely guilty of engaging in threads that were built to destroy the self esteem of hair loss sufferers. They deem it "realistic". F*ck that. I WILL be happy with or without hair, because the alternative is a miserable, desperate life or suicide. It's that simple. Hot women or not, I WILL be happy. I will travel, work, learn new traits and hang out with my family and friends, and when a humanistic robot is available, buy one, haha.

There are people on this forum, like Swoop and Parisienne and a lot of others that I can tell only read the threads that are informative, and use this forum as an outlet to seek knowleadge and help people. When used like this, it is an amazing place. Nowadays, I only come on a couple of times a day, when I am bored and I stay away from the, "if you don't look like justin bieber, tinder sl*ts won't suck your d*ck" type threads. They are pointless and meaningless and in all honesty biased as all hell.

This "coping" phrase is Bullsh*t. It's called living. Life isn't supposed to be easy. The best people make the best of what they have.

But yes, good idea to take a break..i've noticed your posts in line with a few others are pretty depressing and they ignore the examples of bald guys just doing well in life with nice women etc.

Yep
I've said it several times before, only browse the "the impact of hair loss" section if you're ready to head dive jump into a dark pit.
This section of the forum will give you nothing but depression.

You mistaken me for someone who has genuine problems outside of accepting myself, and having hair loss.

I am highly functional, but am an extremist in anything I approach in life.

Part of the reason why I am succesfull at such a young age, but at the same time my own methodological thinking is also part of my demise, and even self-destruction.

I thought you were serious until I saw this picture... And if you ARE serious, well, YOU write some depressing/sarcastic contents, and you definitely seem to have fun acting like that...

ha ha it happened to me too! There was a period when, Whenever I saw a bald guy, especially if he had a visible comb over, my mind went to this forum and I thought of how miserable his life must be according to this forum section!

But @CopeForLife, I tell you this: perhaps some threads get really harsh (including some you opened yourself) but you can skim through those and go directly where you find some good information to exchange.
for instance, before I joined this forum, I did not know so many people started thinning as teenagers. I thought I was the only unlucky bastard and that piece of information helped.

If you don't know the severity of problem, you can never be able to embrace baldness in the first place.

When a doctor see the patient,he understand how severe the problem is,then only he will start management or else patient may suffer huge dysfunction/death.

If you donot understand baldness and its effect, you cannot be able to move out of depression, rather you may fall in to depression.

That moment when you know your looks may have dropped, than only you understand that you cannot do much about it,and u make the decision to like yourself as u are..
Then no negativity on earth will take you down.

Baldness problem in me is becoming smaller and smaller only when i knew what it costed me.

Yeah, well we all know how most "normal" people see baldness.
Just because they may not say it, doesn't mean they are not thinking it.

That's why I hold you in high esteem. Because you are realistic and honest, unlike other good-looking guys, like those you mentioned.

Fred get dates easily and has sex with nice looking girls regularly, he still has his own esteem issues over his hair so not sure he is being realistic. I bet if he was a NW1 he would find another perceived flaw to focus on. Instead he should feel fortunate that hes tall and attractive face to women, as it's rare to have both. no offence intended that's just how I see it based on the evidence.

I think this is a very wise stance.
This is also why I want to discuss the issue of looks related to hairloss and women's reaction to it.
I am not a masochist. I want to know what goes on, and take action.
For all of my life, I have faced inexplicable rejections from women with whom I connected from every point of view.
Except the physical one (they said so to me. Both Italian and Spanish girls can be very direct).
For years, I thought it was something in my attitude, in what I said. No one (especially myself) suggested the most obvious reason.
****ing bad hair.

They just weren't attracted to you, but I doubt it was purely down to your hair.Unless you were very successful before hair loss then suddenly you were getting rejected all the time?

Of course it was not only the hair: if I had been two meters tall things would have been different :)
but it was the physical attraction, they said
btw: I started balding at 16 and at 18 my dermatologist suggested a hair transplant was NOT a good idea for me as my donor area was not good enough to cover what I was losing.

You know I was a NW1 before, right? You talk like I was born bald. And no I didn't focus on anothet flaw, because I didn't have any. I've always been skinny, but somehow I don't have 6600 posts on tooskinnytalk.

Hair loss is a different ball game, of course you're going to obsess over it if you go from NW1 to NW5 between 16 and 22 years old.

Very good post. I never really complained about any part of my physical appearance before hair loss. I never even thought about critiquing my jawline, my facial symmetry, or my nose. But baldness is such a glaring outer blemish that really does make many men look much uglier than they once were. IMO, to say a bald person who is ugly must've been ugly even when they had a full head of hair is downright ridiculous. Baldness can really make or break a person's appearance and I've seen it happen time and time again.

And not everyone's problems are created equal. That is why I can't stand when people say "we all have problems", which IMO implies that all problems are created equal and we all suffer to the same degree, which couldn't be further from the truth. For example, having slight big ears or having a bit of excess weight do not even come close to being as bad as baldness.
