My life ended sooner before it even began...
Did anyone suggest you "why don't you grow it out?" They did it to me and it was not cool.

Come to think about it, I have been suggested (of course I did not ask for advice):
1. Shave it
2. Grow it out
More or less randomly

Why did you cut your hair so short??

What's your norwood?

Diffuse NW5 at age 25.

Not the greatest transplant candidate at the moment because I still have those whispy hairs like OP does, but when I grow it out and comb it over + add toppik, I can get pretty good coverage to give a fullhead illusion.

Hairline is unstylable because of gaps + combination of thinned hairs / regular hairs that just looks like sh*t. However, it hasn't completely receded much, so when it's relatively short, from a distance it looks like I have my original hairline. However, when you get up close you can clearly see the hairs are minitiarized and won't grow normally. On big 3 for a year now though so my loss has somewhat stabilized and min has regrown a decent amount on my crown. Haven't started using it on hairline yet but am contemplating doing so soon.

Fortunately, I'm 195 cm and relatively broad frame wise, so I could pull off the bald look maybe, but I want to keep my hair more for my own personal image of myself, rather than for women.

But I can definitely say that when looking at slick bald guys vs guys with at least some hair, it is much, much better to have at least something.

Ah thought that was the case with you based on your response.

At the age OP is, I know that frame makes little difference. Maybe psychologically a lot, after all we're insecure over hair loss. But for pretty girls that age and indeed any in their 20s and beyond, it's more a case of handsome men v not handsome men. And that's pretty much always handsome men with aesthetic hair. Exception: black bald guy. So if OP is handsome, he has been hit even harder sadly. Just the way it is. It's not even about girls but also the views of other guys and society as a whole. You lose your value and are open to abuse.

I agree about factors like height, ethnicity, facial features, build being able to "pull off baldness" whatever that is. But it's little consolation otherwise a shaved head would be more than fine for me. But it wasn't when I did it. I lost a lot of my looks those 2 months. Even a masculine face, square jaw and darker features were not enough.

Every case is different. Some people don't lose anything from baldness because they weren't that attractive to begin with. Blacks are the only true ones who remain almost as attractive as before. Rarely do I see a caucasian in this category, if ever. Best that can be done is the meaty bald bouncer look which is not attractive. UK doormen from a previous old program.

I agree. However, a shaved head looks unnatural and always weird to me, even on black guys. If you look at a fully shaved black guy vs one with a straight lined up hairline, it's a striking difference in facial proportions/harmony.

If I went fully bald, I'd probably do the heavy stubble beard + buzzed horseshoe down to like a 1 or 0 look. Fully shaved just looks off, I don't know why.

For me I had thick NW1 hair and out of nowhere it started going fast. My brother is a thick NW1 and my dad only started receding in his 40's, neither grandparents went bald either.

But I still think that being slick bald is just harsh. Having no frame or even a semblance of a hairline creates such a disharmony somehow with the face, that I think any hair is definitely worth keeping rather than not, especially at the front.

This disease can skip generations. My brother is also a thick Norwood 1 and one side of my family have god tier hair, not only as it's a Norwood 1 but thick as *****.

Definitely, something is better than nothing hair wise. But at that point it's reached end game and it's a tough time either way.

I wish you the best in your battle bro.

Likewise hair loss talk sensei, I ain't giving up ;).

Some people don't lose anything from baldness because they weren't that attractive to begin with.

If you mean "weren't that attractive to begin with" like average or a little below, they lose more than anyone in this game, a significant number at least. They go from dating down a peg or two, to whiskey and handgun hotel room scenario.

It depends. I've seen some people who are average looking, remain somewhat anonymous after baldness. They look like that they before almost. Assuming head shape okay. To me it's also not just about how much someone falls in ratings. I'm aware someone around a 5/6 can end up at 3 and that can be a big change. Just with better looks and hair, the change appears more drastic.

Couple of these wig videos may highlight that issue.

Ah I see. Yes there's less of a margin for disaster for average guys, that 2nd guy goes from a fullhead 8 or even 9 to like even as low as a 4, no joke, he loses half his physical attractiveness.

It kind of goes back to what you said about the guy in the ugly fat slob thread. Sometimes it can apply to someone incredibly plain and average too. Second guy lost a lot yes, I remember Swing posting about him once!

I've seen both of these videos before, the 2nd one quite a few times.
