Just wanted to let you know, The Prestige just came on Netflix. So if you still haven't watched it, you can. I watched it again tonight after eleven years and realized how underrated the movie really is. I consider the movie to be even better than Memento and Inception.

Hey, thanks very much for this tip! I don't have Netflix, but this post about the film reminded me about it and I'm now in the process of getting it from another source. FWIW I'll see it sometime in the next few weeks and let you know here what I think about it. The blurbs about it seem good.

Not saying all of us but a lot of the rural areas do fit the stereotype. And that plays into the animal abuse. Careless racist white trash family i kno, who literally asked my friend "are you a ******** or are you indian" are pretty mean to their animals
My brothers last dog was bludgeoned to death by a robber with a bat
My moms bf (southern) believes in beating dogs when they have an accident
Its sickening sh*t and im not even a big animal lover.

Many do make their way up North and out West..rescue organizations go down and get them.
It's not really just liberal minded...many Pro Trumper help rescue dogs. A lot of suburban people
Although HRC had actual policies against animal abuse and puppy mills on her website Trump rolled back almost every regulation he could to protect animals. they took down the website listing the known abusers or something--you can google it I may not be saying it 100% accurate.
But many people vote against own self interests or things they believe in, it's baffling.

I donate sometimes and follow a lot of rescue organizations in NY and also out West.
i have friends who do rescues themselves in small organizations or just on their own. Many of the most horrifically abused by people seem to be coming from the South--really S.Carolina is mentioned the most from my observations so far.
I follow a guy he flys a small plane to S.Carolina and gets dogs that are traumatized or injured.
I think s.Carolina must have high kill shelters.
We have a lot of neglect in the North from people who are hoarders, or drug addicts but the real malicious abuse is more South it seems.
I mean I think the S. Carolina facilities get in touch with the rescue places up North to go get them out, so there are people who love them they just don't have the laws or facilities to protect them I think.
A friend of a friend she even flew to S Korea to get dogs from the dog meat trade and bought them to USA and got them boarded and socialized. I think a lot were adopted. I know North Shore Animal league did this as well.
North Shore is possibly largest rescue organization in USA if not mistaken...If you follow Howard Stern that is organization his wife donates her time to. The two of them foster many cats and kittens in their manhattan apartment lol.
