For normal people, not us hair loss freaks you are just a guy with hair, so it is not the same. People usually put you in two categories NW1-NW3 -> hairy and NW4+ -> baldie. They don't look at a NW2 guy and think "ZOMG he is receding!!!"

Yes I see NW2's (thin ones aswell) in shampoo and hair product adverts all the time. Hairloss has to be fairly obvious before 'normal' people notice it.
I know guys who are what many people on here would call NW3's and they dont consider themselves to have hairloss.
I remember hearing some girls talking about baldness and one said "I'm glad my boyfreind has all his hair" and this guy bordering on NW3. Most women dont see any issue with Jude Laws hair yet to most of the posters on here he's practicly bald.

99% of normal people would'nt notice a difference between Colin Farrel and Vince Vaughns hairlines they'd just see 2 guys with hair.

Vince Vaughns hair looks sh*t in comparison to Colin Farrel

A NW2 saying how well he does inspite of his hair loss. :bravo:

My hair loss is noticable. Ok, not as noticable as a NW5+

If you ever met me, you can see that I have receeded into a V shape. And it's not very attractive, actually the only haircut I can have is a weird fauxhawk.

Yes but the problem with the NW2 stage is that you live in the fear of not knowing if it will stop there, or go back further.

It's depressing.

What's depressing is having every avenue to treating hairloss outside of wigs and risky tattoos cut off from you because your hairloss is too advance... too late for meds, too late for transplants. But you have all these advantages I do not so for you there is hope. Hope is not depressing.

exactly, and for the NW2 you can totally get on finasteride/min to maintain your hair over the next 5 years and maybe do a single FUE transplant when your 28 and boom, you've "saved" in your early 20s/ late 30s.

and if you wish to save your 40s (for all it matters) just one other FUE.

but for total f*** ups like me (25 yr old nw5 in 2010), ucman (also 25 yr old nw5 in 1995 ro so) and dudemon (25 yr old nw5 in the 1980s so was horshoe ffs) that option is just not available for us.

it's either wigs or look crappy with expensive hair transplants.

and tbh for us the only option is wigs, i mean even dudemon himself said hair transplant are sh*t if your NW4 or >

so UCMan is right, its wigs or nothing.

also the tatoo looks sh*t and when girls feel it they wont feel hair.

its NOT a social solution, the only one solution for the NW5 is WIG.

I'm a NW3 and was shaved for a while and got the ''Oh you are bald'' etc
now I've grown my hair back and ''You have hair after all'' type comments.

I think outwith this page and people who obsses about their hair loss, anything up to NW3 is probably considered hair. Even then when I shaved my head, I was called 'baldy' etc and people even thought that I'd lost all my hair.

yeah, before hairloss i didn't really notice guys with hairloss in NW3 or even 4 if its grown out.

i was a metallica fan and i didnt even recognise that lars was balding

its wied, hardly anyone puts people in that class of bald man until you are bald.

yeah same with me i had PURE diffuse thinning

i had no idea what the f*** was up with my hair!

my mum used to say i had "fine" hair, and it was "thin".

it was really wierd, i think receeding might be worse though, becuase it throws your face out of whack very slowly, and sets in a mortality thing in a guy (way before his time).

but for me baldess wasn't like that, i didnt feel those sortof negative emotions, i still had hair before i shaved off bald as example. (i shave off bald liek satch at 22)

its jsut that my hair didnt look good, in fact it proably didnt look balding in the negative sense, it just was very bad looking.

it wasnt actually bald until 23, at that age i was slick for real.

also i would agree, looking at the Norwood scale an such i guess i never technically had male pattern baldness is the general sense.

same end result though, and that is slick NW5.

these days all i have is horshoe but EVEN THAT is diffuse thinning (balding in horshoe)

which is really wierd, its liek my entire full head of hair just sort of gave up on me when i was 24.

i wear hair now but its full cap, which is rare, most wearers (99%) just have a top piece for classic male pattern baldness, but for me its a full cap.

also at 22 i had hair, theni shaved off bald, cuase it looked bad, and got wig at 24 so i had hair again.

but i can imagine it SUCKING to try to lead a social/dating life from 23-29 with a receeding line that goes from NW2-4 in that period or have some sort of bald spot thrown in there for kicks!
