What will happen is this:

If I eat the mudffin with the drug I'll have a reaction similar to what I described in the first post. If I eat the one without the drug I'll have a muffin. I can't be more clear. I'd ask for my sake you just assume my reaction is physical. I'm not looking to debate whether or not what happened yesterday actually happened physically.

LOL!! So you're saying that you don't need to do such a test, because you already know how it would turn out? :)

What if a pharmaceutical company said the same thing to the FDA: "Look, damnit, we don't NEED to test our new drug with a big, expensive clinical trial; we already know for sure that it works great. We KNOW how the trial would turn out. We can't be more clear about this. We're not looking to debate whether or not our drug works great!!"

YES. I'm not the drug company, just someone who knows when he's having a bad reaction to a drug. Geez.

Again, for argument sake let's move past this and just assume it's physical.

You can move past this if you want, but I continue to urge people who think they're having quick-onset "side effects" with Propecia to do a placebo-controlled test on themselves, especially if it's of a sexual nature. It's a good way to find out for sure if it's real, or if it's all in your head.

Sigh.

BTW, even if your symptoms were real and caused by the tablet that you took (as opposed to being merely coincidental to taking the tablet), I doubt that it was specifically caused by the finasteride. It sounds much more like a sensitivity or allergy to one of the tablet excipients. You could try taking a different brand of finasteride, like one of the foreign generics.

I never thought of that. Never heard of excipients.

I'm going to talk to my GP. My dermatologist just seems like a salesman to me and assured me there were no side-effects. He made a joke about the only effect would be more sex because I'd have great hair.

I think I need to have bloodwork done anyway. I've been having a fatigue issue after exercise that's probably related to something being out of whack. I'm guessing the Propecia exacerbated that in some way and that's what made me feel as uncomfortable as I did. I really felt terrible. I feel 100% now but no chance what I felt that day wasn't a physical reaction to that drug.
