Is it snake oil?

Does it work?

Who here swears by it? I used to apply it in the summer. Didn't notice any difference.

Some people swear its snake oil.

Who here on the forums swears by it? Anyone?

spironolactone is not a snake oil
Yes it does work as a DTH blocker but it won't regrow hair.

Well - i duno - i guess its a maintainer. Maybe even a hair thickener, but really - i think this is really for people with light hairloss and don't want to lose more hair. But for the more serious hairloss people - it doesn't help much, since it doesn't regrow hair.

Slowing down/halting the male pattern baldness process is helping. No anti-androgen is going to provide THAT much regrowth. Remember castrated men do not regrow their hair. Try using spironolactone in conjunction with copper peptides or minoxidil if you want regrowth.

Hi baller234
Are you satisfied with Folligen? Were you able to regrow a little bit with copper peptides?

I'm using Hair Signals.

Anti- androgens DOES regrow hair; check out the studies on fluridil/eucapil.

There aren't any clinical trials that I know of with spironolactone, and even though it's a very potent anti androgen, I gues the topical application limits the effect a little bit. (But trust me, you do NOT want to take this orally).

It's not snake oil.

Yes I've been using the regular folligen for over a year on temples and it has given me some regrowth. However this was in conjunction with other treatments.

I never said anti-androgens do not regrow hair. I said that they won't regrow very much hair. Hair that was recently lost (minaturized) will probably "regrow".

Also Fluridil isn't an anti-androgen. It's an androgen receptor degrader (although there is really no proof that it actually does this).

I thought that fluridil was an anti- androgen.
Thanks for correcting me.

A receptor degrader sounds really interesting....

It sounds like one of those things that by itself you shouldn't expect much but if added to the mix of minoxidil, copper peptides, and possibly Nizoral, could really slow down hair loss.

I am thinking of giving 2% spironolactone a try this Spring/Summer.
