Well sure but that's because typical hair transplants require a lot of specialist time but with Tsuji it takes a lot of the labour out of it, especially considering he plans to automate a large part of it. I imagine this will reduce the cost by a decent amount. In the early stages of commercialisation, we would be paying more for the R&D and less for their time.

I’m pretty sure the last time I read about Tsuji’s technique it literally required each cel to be individually placed and made sure it’s in the correct direction . This would make it 1) extremely slow and costly 2) incredibly slow to implement because it would take many many years before hair transplant surgeons are taught the new technique . Let alone getting it perfected .

I think a Big difference is that RepliCel/ Tsuji uses the peoples OWN cells for treatment so it should be safe

The article that Joxy posted states that it was an autologous transplant i.e. his own cells. They "transplanted olfactory mucosal cells drawn from his upper nasal passages".

Replicel is definitely unproven, given what only 10 or so patients were followed up on in the 5 year window? The new Shiseido trial has 60 participants that will be followed up on only after 1 year. This guy's tumour showed up after 7 years.

Anyone trying this therapy in the first couple years will be facing serious unknowns about cancer risk. Also inb4 people say cancer is nothing to worry about. I promise everyone that blindness, strokes, death etc. are worse than balding. If y'all don't believe that, then you need therapy a lot more than more hair.

You really think that a multinational public company would risk the entirety of their share price on giving people cancer. Im sure this topic has been approached by them.

Scaryyyy!!! The irony is that the few vip lucky rich elite millionaires who will be able to afford it, will also be like Guinea pigs ;) Good Iam not rich enough to be tempted.it's good to be broke .
Why do they need to orient each cell though, would it matter all that much in the crown area for example in what direction your hair grows? Maybe one could have a traditional hair transplant for the hairline and then inject replicel product behind it?

Good luck man. My brother did it a few months ago in Turkey for dirt cheap and his face is now transformed back into his old handsome self! He said it hurt as f$%&k . The new hairs look way thicker, darker and frizzier than his other hairs though. I keep teasing him that they must have used donor hairs from his genitals haha!!!!!
Personally I am going to wait a bit till I lose way more hair and do a more conservative hairline, maybe something just in the middle front keeping the sides as deep seams as if I parted my hair on both sides. Then I trim down the sides a bit like a buzz military cut. Not sure how to explain it but I saw it on one guy on the streets once and thought it was a smart approach. Coz I just don't like those fake low hairlines I am seeing, with that fully filled up temporal area.
For now I am sticking to microneedling, hopefully will make a few hairs sprout out :D

The article has luckily nothing to do with tsuji or shiseido.

The use of olfactory cells appears to be a relatively novel application for spinal cord injuries. The process isn't utterly devoid of scientific logic. Olfactory mucosal cells have neuronal features and are known to regenerate themselves, which suggests they could fulfil the function of spinal cells, which don't regenerate, at least in theory.

Doctors at Memorial University of Newfoundland discovered that the olfactory cells had never differentiated into neuronal cells, as the Portuguese clinic apparently expected, but kept growing on their own, producing a tumour of nasal cells that's now too large to be surgically removed.

So the cells need to differentiate in this example which is not necessary in both processes which makes it way more easy and save. The procedure of alexey terskikh on the other hand is using ipsc cells so there is a chance that something goes not like planed.

Dude u r badly informed. Tumour is not cancer. Tumour is local uncontrolled growth while cancer is spreading leading to many many tomours. Even if something goes very wrong during the cell multiplication and a tomour occures it is on the surface of you skin and easy to rmeove. And the tumour of this guy was just found after 7 years. The cells must have been growing the whole time.


So people keed cool and don t worry about horror stories from totally different approaches. (But i from my personal point of view i wouldn't like to be one of the first to try alexeys procedure... but the others i would go for if i had the cash)

I mean its a well known risk that tumors may appear after these types of procedures. These are different cells but it would definitely be foolish to think we couldn't get tumors from this type of precedure. Its important to actually look at all the info and trial data when the first cell therapy comes out to understand the possible risks, and even then know as an science in its infancy we don't know what might happen 15-20 years down the line.
