But yeah, still a big hassle. Since my hair line never moved, I looked like a fullhead with dermmatch on my head.

The problem is, when you wash your hair in the evening, it's always hard-breaking. Reality shock every time.

Yes, I agree - it beats being (or looking, you're still bald anyway) bald, even if it's a hassle. You also have to keep in mind that rain will make the concealer run, not really attractive having dark streaks running down your cheeks. When I wore a concealer I always had to bring an umbrella or a jacket with a hoodie with me if it looked like it could be raining. Still, I couldn't be more grateful to Toppik for allowing me to have my own natural hair for a bit longer. Without it I'd be in a hair piece long before I actually did. And as we all know - a hair piece is forever the last possible resort. It's when you've given up and nothing else worked, which was the case for me.

And I remember when I used Toppik and just took a shower, I dimmed the lights in my bathroom and blow dried my hair in the half-dark then threw a ton of Toppik on my head as fast as possible to not see the brutal reality. When I had it on it was almost like I imagined I had hair.

I am a toppik prisoner.

I remember one time i ran out, and spent hours trying to find a store with it in stock because I had to work the next morning. It was a painful day.

Now I keep more that one bottle and never let myself run too low on it

It can be a great band-aid though. Personally, I could not keep it up for more than one month (I was using dermmatch).

It's especially hard to keep up with it when you know that your hair is going to keep on thinning.

This. Whenever you wash it out, you see the huge difference it makes in making you appear like you have a full head of hair. Definitely sucks but it's definitely a great temporary blanket used along with propecia/minoxodil.

To me the worst is going to the barber, the walk of shame without the fibers, they always try to buzzcut me and I have to keep telling them I use hair fibers so leave my hair longer as if I'm getting a normal haircut.

One time I arrived at the barber with the fibers on, hoping get my hair my washed over there before the haircut, before walking in I notice bunch of three cutesy (is that even a word?) 15-16 year olds were arguing with the barber and were about to leave, then I walked in and their eyes set on me and suddenly they decided to stay, even tho they're nearly half my age it's still flattering. It wasn't too long before the horror landed on me, the barber knew I'm wearing toppik and called me to get my hair washed, and in my head I was thinking 'girls, just get the fck out of here, don't embarrass me', instead they just kept checking me out the whole time. The entire time, all I could think about is whether or not they even noticed, honestly they'd have to be blind not to notice. The haircut itself was pretty quick and I swear I could hear one of them something along the lines "he looked better before".

Sometimes I think it was a mistake to go to a barber very close to where I live in neighborhood, it's a small place where the supermarket, post office, pharmacy and other stuff all bunched in one area, and sometimes I wonder if the employees at the barbershop say anything about me behind my back to other people.

Anything more then spot treatment, and it doesn't become a band-aid anymore. it becomes a crutch.

I know what you mean, that's why I stopped going to the hairdresser altogether and just learned how to cut my own hair. Not perfect of course, but it beat having people stare at my hair at the salon. Now that I wear a hair system I have to go to the salon and although it's torture having people looking at my diffused scalp, I have to do it. Besides, it's not a normal hair salon but a salon that specialises in clients with hair loss, so they're used to seeing it at least. Still hurts though.

Hey EL, what kind of extension are you using at the moment?

I can't believe how much thinner my hair has gotten over the last 4 months on spironolactone even though my shed has reduced significantly. I would rather die before leaving my room without Toppik.

I realise people (mostly women) started to stare at my hairline. Not sure if it's the bald spot or they could tell sth is up there? :/

Avoid barbers who can't cater to your needs cos frankly you aren't making your money worth if you don't.

You raise a fair point, I never even thought it was a valid option to get a haircut with toppik on... Come to think of it, what's the worst that could happen, the barber will get a few fibers on his fingertips ? The scissors and comb can be easily washed off. Is he gonna care about the clipper on the trimmer getting a bit of fibers ? I should try this next time. I can only think of one barbershop I know of that would be understanding, the current one I go, I can already imagine their reply "what's your problem washing your hair? you're a man, you don't need fibers, just shave it".

still a lot of advertisements of cure of baldness and oldcels who wears hats, combovers or BANDANAS

in the fuckng poverty they still care about hair more than food or others goods in their 50s (noone balding in asia earlier)
