eh nothing, just f*****g depressed. I was watching a documentary on Netflix about the Voyager spacecraft and i felt like sh*t because here are these human beings who did something incredible that will travel to infinity and meanwhile i look at my life and i'm like, i'm a piece of sh*t who hasn't contributed to humanity in any way... i really envy those people who were able to be part of something like that, i wish i could do the same.

I know the feels, that's why i performed computer programming studies hoping to contribute in advance to a relatively young science which can potentially help mankind.
Yet i'm now working on stupid mobile apps to make money from invasive Ads while shitposting on HairLossTalk.com...
And computer R&D is now mainly focused on VR Pr0n, video games, image processing for ridiculous SnapChat filters, social medias and data surveys
@Afro_Vacancy works on a field where he can potentially fulfill those kind of feats

yeh society's priorities have gotten skewed... back in the day they'd just try to get things done, the f*****g voyager cables and circuitry were wrapped with aluminum foil they bought at the supermarket because the didn't have anything else, yet this spacecraft i snow traveling outside of our solar system and has witnessed upclose encounters with the planets and moons of our solar system without skipping a beat. As a society and as a species we need to be willing to take more risk, even at the risk of loss of life; that's where massive leaps in science and heroes are made
we need to stop being such pussies about things. We are too PC, too scared to speak up, too scared to take a risk and too sedated by the comfort of our flickering screens to change anything

Elon Musk is one of the greatest modern example of old school science pionneers and their vision

It may sound cheesy to other members here, but the passion and love I feel for my country is real. America f*** yea.

I love your patriotism too.

Even though this clip is mostly satire there is still a lot of truth in it and nothing any American should be ashamed of.
American cultural imperialism (so described by the white guilt brigade) is mostly benign.. and not to mention, highly addictive.

God bless America!

You seem like you might have achieved more than you realise, goals might be a bit overambitious if it's hoping to achieve stuff that one in a billion people get to achieve.

I mean who knows but yeah I wouldn't let it make you feel inferior. There's an overwhelming amount of reasons they got such an opportunity.

The Voyager missions are a brilliant piece of scientific achievement.
Another fine American effort.

It's a Wonderful Life
White Christmas
Bad Santa
A Christmas Carol (I'm most familiar with the George C. Scott version)
Gremlins
Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
A Christmas Story (though 24 hours Xmas Day is overkill)
Miracle on 34th Street
Elf
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Scrooged
Mickey's Christmas Carol (not feature-length but a sentimental favorite...it was the first thing my family ever taped off of TV - 8:30 am, December 25, 1987).
