Skating has been a big part of my life since I was 13 and im now 23. I used to only skate with people I knew and hated going to skateparks because I was afraid of people seeing this balding guy who they probably thought was 30. I spent my final year of University in England (im originally from NY) and only went skating 3 times and wore a hat each time because of my insecurity.
It sucks because the whole skate culture is about punk and hip hop and my hair makes me feel like I'm too old to be a part of it anymore.
I recently moved to Poland and I forced myself to go skating without a hat the first time I met up with people here. I knew if I wore a hat the same thing that happened in England would happen here. It worked because Ive already skated more in 2 months living here than a year in England.
I also don't approach women at all in a dating sense anymore unless im completely drunk(which kills any chance even if hair wasnt an issue). Hence I haven't had a gf in a year.
