I know this guy with huge recession, no thinning or crown loss, and he basically looks almost bald to me

But with his thick black donor hair, he's just one transplant away from having a great head of hair

Diffuse is the most traumatic. You go from normal full head to diffuse mess so quickly that others around you think you have a disease
What do you mean by "so quickly" ? I mean, it's been like 6years for me and I still have hair. Most people my age don't even "know" I'm balding because they think that it's impossible at my age among other dumbass reasons. The think I was born like this I guess, wtf. Hairloss is such a taboo subject that most human beings know sh*t about it

For the record I'm NW3 or diffused 7. I don't even know how to put it lol

Diffuse seems like the worst one to me. It's hard to detect at first, and by the time you've noticed you may have thinned all over and lost 50% of your density already. Best thing about it is that they tend to respond better to treatments, it's easier to conceal and that there are reports of diffusers maintaining only on the big three for more than ten years. But it's harder to get a transplant if you ever need one.

Best one to me seems to be crown loss. It can be hard to notice if you're tall enough, and you can also use concealers if you want to (Even though it doesn't messes up with the framing of your face). The crown also tends to respond better to treatments than the front.

Why are you all saying that diffuse is harder to get a transplant ?
Don't you just have to wait that the hair fall out ? or something like that

Because since you have to transplant in between hairs there's a higher chance of shock loss and damaging the existing hairs.

Oh ok, but what if you wait until most/all of your hair falls ?
Well then it's the same as transplanting on a bald head, but the problem there is the risk of insufficient donor hair so you probably have to compromise with the hairline and/or crown.

If it get's too bad you could possibly still get a transplant even without finasteride, @justinbieberscombover has a good result even though he's not on finasteride, and is a NW6.

Though of course be wary and careful and do research, transplants are not something to just casually get.
