Nope, suspect all you want, but those pictures were taken about 5 minutes apart a few weeks before my hair transplant.

Why get a hair transplant? Because both of them are pretty much useless if you don't have adequate hair at the hairline to provide coverage. In short, they only work if you have at least some hair and you have to be VERY careful at the hairline. My hairline back then (this was in June) was very receded.

I did take the photos with the dermmatch that I got. Tell me what you guys think. I actually like the Dermmatch better than Toppik and Couvre'

Before:

After Dermmatch:

Now these were taken just the other day...more than 5 months after my hair transplant of over 2,300 grafts to the hairline and forelock. I didnt recieve any transplants into the crown.

Hope this gives you guys an idea of what these concealers can do with a little patience and practice.

 Thats so awesome social_drinker.

I will use dermatch for the rest of my life. Do you think I should try toppik first?

Also, what color of dermatch to use? I have black hair...so is black color for dermatch ok?

HairLossTalk.com, please include dermatch in your online shop. :D

Thanks for posting these pictures social_drinker, you made my day. :D

I cant say which will work best for you, but by all means if you can get away with just Dermatch, stick with that. My Couvre' + Toppik regimen was way more expensive than Dermatch.

Me, i may try out a Dermatch/Toppik duo just for sh--s and giggles.

so do u apply dermatch after the shower when hair is dampo after being towel dried? i mean how do u apply it exactly?
i just wana apply it to the front no need to use on top or back..would that be cool?..i just ordered some..i fele like im deceiving people though which sucks..:(
but dermatch only comes off if u wash hair correct?
does it in anyway contributer to scalp inflammation if u presently have that?
im just hoping this propecia works eventually and thickens my front up so i no longer need dermatch if i start using it..im just sick of being paranoid and wearing a hat all the time cause im fearful; of people seeing my receding hairline

On towel-dried hair.

Read back a few pages. I posted the whole procedure.

As long as its not too far from the start of the hairline - maybe a half inch or so.

So does walking around thin.

Correct. If you just wet your hair a little will come out but it really only makes it look even more natural.

I wouldn't think so. I have no idea, though, since I don't have an inflammed scalp. I have male pattern baldness. Try it and see.

If it works for you - great. If it doesn't youre out, what? $35 bucks. I had an hair transplant at my hairline and forelock. I am letting med's take care of the crown right now. I was a NW4. If I showed you a "before" pic you would freak at how bad off I was.

Anyway, I figured that I would post a pic of how dermatch and a little Toppik looks with gel.

I think it looks ok (though I need a hair cut, military habits die hard). What does everyone else think?

Looks Great!
I meant to ask you, as I was looking at your picture of you applying it, how much do you put on? Do you really goop it on? I'm thinking maybe I don't put enough on and that's why I still am not totally pleased with the results, at times. Sometimes it looks good, but other times I can see my transplanted hairs even behind my hairline, as I think it kind of clings to them and accentuates them more making them more visible.

I dont really "goop it on." I just make sure that every spot of bare scalp is ccovered and then I brush it through the hair very thouroughly - even where there is hair. That is to disperse the color of the dermatch all over so there is no inconsistencies.

Another problem you may have, Vinton Harper, is that your water type effects how it adheres to the scalp, at least that's what is mentioned in the directions. It says if you have hard water, you aren't able to completely remove the soap from when you shampoo, which hinders the effect of dermatch on the scalp. I find that, since I do have harder water, I have to use more. Just somethin else to consider.

Good call, miller.

It also says that you can go and pick up some spring water to wash your hair with and to use to wet the applicator with. That, or spring for one of those water softener things. Dunno.

Is it okay to sweat with DermMatch? I'd like to play basketball without having to wear a cap, because i'm afraid the concealer could get on my hands or others' hands by accidental contact...

Yes. I work out, run, and have even taken a shower and wet my hair (without shampoo) and the dermatch stayed in. A little came out with the force of the shower but not so much that it is noticeable.

why did you need to use both couvre and toppik if they both do the same thing?

What would you reccomend for thinning on top like a bald spot (but not bald just thin)?

Are any of these avaliable in the UK?

Drop anything else but DermMatch. This is the answer to your prayers. Extremely cheap, easy and fast to use. Awesome results for thinners.

For severe thinning you may want to try coth Couvre' and Toppik to get the best result. I had major severe thinning. Now, I just use Dermatch and then sprinkle a little Toppik on. Works wonders.

so Toppik is a sprayer type thing

Couvre is a lotion

What's dermatch?

And the biggest obstacle for me is colour. I have mousey-blonde hair which is a little dark to be called blonde (unless i get metrosexual style highlights done which make it look thicker but can't be done too often as colouring isn't good) but too light to be called brown - especially when it's longer and in the light as it appears lighter...

Look back a couple of pages. You will see how Its put on and how it looks on. Its a fine powdery substance that comes in a disk. You put it on using an applicator.

As every post goes by, it seems more and more like I am selling this stuff. Maybe I should give Toppik, Couvre', and Dermatch a call....hmmm....

Haha I empathize. Whenever I respond about Dermatch, I feel like a salesman. That said,

I'd really recommend it Mr. Sparkle. When you get good at using it, you can pretty much patch up your hair to look decent and then not worry about your hair throughout the day, which to me, is an immense relief. I can function and progress at work and with girls.

I have an odd coloured hair though - somewhere between blonde and brown - it looks a lot darker inside but outside with the sun out it looks blonde - so I don't know what colour to go for?

Buffboy where did you get yours from as you're from Denmark? Is there a European place to get it as I'm from the UK...

just order from the official home page. It's Derm you're talking about, right? http://www.dermmatch.com

When you order the first time, you pay for one disc - but gets two! So if you're not sure what colour to pick, then just order both! You can mix the two colours if your colour is in between.

BUT, I thought for a long time that I naturally had lighter hair in front - but it's because of male pattern baldness. male pattern baldness causes the hair to lose it's pigment and therefore become lighter. I just use the dark brown disc because this way my hair is having the same colour all over. Go after the colour of your hair at your neck.

BTW. Thanks for the last time at Ol' Trafford 2-3 to us - I heard you come to Copenhagen this year in order to get revenge? We'll be happy to have you here... :p

haha okay seems easy enough! I assumed it would cost shitloads to ship to the UK and stuff but seems good and cheap! Seems better than Toppik the main reason I'd want something like this is for occasions like swimming when I need a little extra stuff!

It's a well known fact that England do not take friendly matches seriously at all! We must have fielded about 22 different players in that match so laugh all you want but the last match we took seriously against you was the 3-0 trouncing in Japan/Korea! So I imagine you'll beat us in Copenhagen as we'll just be experimenting with young players and seeing who fits where!
