Don't think finasteride is a libido killer, quite the opposite. But what does concern me (not really, because
I have kids already), is the watery semen part. A lot of people talk about that. It might be in my head.

I do take Propecia (oral 1mg finasteride in the US) on occasions, but not everyday. However, I do take topical (more than
one milligram) Finasteride daily. So, I can't be a hypocrite about something I already use.

For me, in my own opinion, I think the Progesterone has done more than Finasteride. I'm an old guy. For me to have
new hair growing back (although not a lot), means something.

Hopefully I can get a second chance with Histogen. I can only try it and find out. But this time, if I'm luck enough
to grow my hair back, I'm doing an anti DHT medication, ASAP!
Did you had scalp itch before treatments? Also did you see improvements from the topical finasteride alone or only after adding oral too?

I have been on topical finasteride for two years and im still lossing hair. The scalp itch gets better for some hours, then it comes back. My DHT was confirmed to be above the range (I took blood tests before starting the treatment)

I am now considering adding in oral finasteride. It sucks buy im desperate. I will try RU first, but I predict it will do sh*t nothing. Also you can't use RU every day apparently, I've heard some people say it's a bad idea, so only a couple times of RU a week, if the finasteride doesn't work, I predict im fucked.

Do any of you finasteride warriors worry about the increased risk for HIGH-GRADE prostate cancer?

That sh*t can take you OUT quickly at a relatively young age...

IIRC finasteride only increases the risk of high grade prostate cancer due to making it more difficult to detect and it doesn't actually increase the chances of developing it.

Like I said in a different thread earlier today, the phenomena of hairloss drug scare-mongering is at crazy levels. I've never seen so much fear thrown around over medication that is less likely to f*** you up than ibuprofen. I don't doubt at all that some people legit do get bad side effects, but so many can't even say for sure finasteride did X to them; especially when they were paranoid of sides to begin with. One guy on here was complaining that he had just crippling ED 18 whole minutes after taking finasteride for the first time.

If this drug and minoxidil did half of what the (increasingly absurd) claims said they do, with such frequency, Merck would've been sued into ground and the FDA re-evaluated the drug after more than 20 years.

Finasteride doesnt kill libido due to lowering dht. Testosteron aromatase more estradiol on finasteride which levels will depends on your current testosteron level. The more testosteron you have, then more estradiol will fly in your body and also. If you have a body fat higher than 25 % gyno chances are higher. On finasteride i got Estradiol on top reference range 37pg/ml at range 7-42.

I feel really very good at the moment.
Libido problems work very similar to gyno but in pair with lack dht and estradiol ratio to dht.

I dont get it how finasteride may increase prostate cancer. Ar upregulation? Hmm.

I've seen a guy here claim minoxidil have him ED and brain fog...

Poor guy was very confused, mixing up finasteride and minoxidil purported side effects. He wasn't even taking finasteride!

But yeah it does cause gyneconastia in some people.

I agree, although sometimes I think we forget that we, who post of these forums, only make up less than 5% of people treating their hair loss. People who have had poor results, gotten sides or have hypochondriasis are more likely to post in these forums than people it just works for.

so true sailing. a lot of people who arent even bothered by baldness (seemingly) take finasteride and its just like "yeah guys i looked this stuff up and its supposed to help". they take it casually, it prevents their baldness, and they go on with life

A lot of people don't get noticeable negative sides on finasteride. Here's what a doctor told me in private conversation a while back:

About Finasteride. Well, lol, I have a pretty clear opinion on that molecule. It's magic. I speak as a patient and not as a MD. I've been on it for 9 years now. I didn't lose 1 hair since I started it, but it didn't help grow what was lost. The first two months, I had 0 sex drive, 0 erections then, it gradually came back to normal (and eventually got even better than before). I shouldn't say all this, but my sex drive is through the roof, could **** twice per day, sperm volume is normal, athletic performance are incredible, I used to deadlift 3x my weight, I still stay ripped year long, and my male organ probably got bigger (how the hell is that possible, I have no clue). That's not even the best part. I look like I barely aged 1 year from 22 to 31 year old. People thought I was 22 back then and still think I look 22 today. Objectively, I'd say I barely aged in that time span, I look 2 years older at worst. I have very little experience as a md with it because nobody asks for that stuff. Anyways, I plan on taking that pill as long as it exist or until I die.

As for newer hair loss treatment, I haven't really kept up to date about this, like I said, nobody asks about this kind of stuff. Personally, I'll never switch to another product.

Many people have a great response to the drug, clearly. I wish we had better understanding of who responds well and who doesn't. Right now, you're basically playing poker. What kind of person gets regrowth? What kind gets maintenance? What kind gets androgen up-regulation Who gets gyno? Who gets ED? No idea.

according to the last studies i read it was something like 90+% has at least maintenance, and half of that for regrowth. but that regrowth includes minor regrowth too.

i was prolly 5-10% density (spider web thin hair) when i started (+ 5% rogaine)and it maintainted that for 2 years. i just got off cuz wats the point in keeping spiderweb hair? i basically was bald still

Keep spiderweb hair in case better treatments are available soon.

idk i just feel it wouldn't have made much of a difference, especially since not much long term research has been done on finasteride. it was super thin lol.
