What my doctor told me about propecia and hairloss drugs.

I´ve had some mailcontact with a doctor. A good, respectable one at that.
He is fully aware that I get my finasteride elsewhere, so he actually would benefit in $ by bad mouthing it since I´d maybe then pay for laser or something instead.

He treats around 1000 patients/year with propecia 1mg and proscar (1/5, 1.25mg). Pretty much tells me I can be really confident taking it, as the problems have been very few and nothing really major.

He does however point out that its still only really "safe" for use 5-10 years, as thats pretty much the timeframe we have studied. Point being, we cant say for sure its safe to use it 20 years yet.

Yes, but mainly older people. What happens to a 20-year old using propecia until he is in his 50s? Propbably nothing, but we cant really be sure.

That was my main concern before starting it as a 23-24 year old. So I can understand some of the paranoia from 18 year olds.

I see what you're saying Libido.

My main reason for posting this was the sheer amount of people who go by what they read on forums and never go to a doctor for prescriptions.

I don`t understand the part about copper peptides, are you saying he acknowledged you or he did`nt know what you were talking about?

I wanna know more about these copper peptides products.. do you build up a tolerance or a dependence on it? like minoxidil?

He hadn't the slightest clue what i was talking about and I think he was amused at it being an "internet concoction" as he mention about a few other things.
