Ye and it's guys like you that convince people that finasteride is not a good opton. Then when it gets to the point where it's unbearable they try it anyway. Wishing they were on it sooner.

Get on it op and if it doest work come off. Better to be In the position of giving some a shot then wishing whe it's late. I see it happening a the time. People panic when they can't handle something anymore

The side effects of going bald are worse. Won't be using your tool much if it all once you teach the point of no return

You did read my post... i said " i " would never jump on it and that is based on the large side effect profile it carries, some of which can not be reversed. Playing with hormones is a dangerous game, ive seen first hand what happends to people who mess with them in the gym.

Also i have not seen any convining evidence that finasteride by itself is even effective. The only people who are getting any regrowth are normally on a bunch of other hormonal drugs aswell.

Ive had my head completley shaved quite afew times now and my girlfriend has never suddenly decided she doesnt want to have sex with me anymore.

But we are both entitled to our opinions and i would suggest the OP keeps what we have both said in mind and does some serious research before jumping on pharma drugs

He's being nice and I think you should respect that.

I'm on finasteride atm and I'm getting sides. I tried finasteride once and had sides. Quit, am now micro-dosing and I'm still getting sides. The exact same ones as before so Finasteride is clearly not for me but I tried and gave it a damn good shot.

Yeah being bald will suck but there is some excellent treatments coming out over the next 10 years plus my donar site is fcking strong so a hair transplant is an option for me.

I'm super proud of my penis, I'm very gifted down there and losing it to finasteride isn't worth it. I have a lot more to offer than my head of hair. Nice face, over 6ft, abs and I can make girls laugh. It's not over for me so stop fear mongering please. He was being nice.

Out of interest hows your diet man ?

I used to smoke, and drink shitloads of alcohol and sugary fizzy drinks and not sleep much.

One thing ive noticed is since almost cutting out sugar conpletely, my skin , asthma , hair and general well being has been much better.

My diet is pretty good. Almost never eat fast food, once a week at most. Pretty much no sodas or cokes or anything.

Loads of fruit and vegetables and a fair amount of protein. I do eat a lot of carbohydrates but I'm a tall and skinny build with no body fat and I have a very active job so I kind of need the energy.

Alcohol intake is moderate-low. Drink heavily 1/2x a week. Drink 2/3 cups of coffee or tea a day. I also drink loads of water.

Smoke anywhere from 0-5 a day, maybe more if I'm drinking. Walk 5 - 7 miles a day for work.

Most of my sugar comes from fruits. I had a chocolate bar earlier just cause I was in a shop with friends and it make me really hyper actually haha.

Ther's some understandable reasons for not taking finasteride and I respect this but some of your reasons are just plain wrong. Studies tell us 83.7% of guys at least keep their hair and 66% experience regrowth - http://www.emedexpert.com/facts/finasteride-facts.shtml If you havn't seen any evidence that finasteride can work then I don't think you've done your research. Also ther's plenty of threads in the "Success stories" section on this very site where guys have had superb results on finasteride.
Yes ther's a large amount of side effects but only a small % of men get these. It's only 2% but I agree some of the sides are no laughing matter and again I understand if you still don't want to take the chance. It's whether the risk outweighs the reward and it's something any sensible guy needs to weigh up before going on the drug.
On a side note what guard did you get it shaved to when it was cut (the first picture I think)?

Thats a fair argument to be honest. I tend to take large studies like that with a pinch of salt due to them often being funded by the pharma companies making the drugs. Also depends wether people are being honest as to what else they are taking. The 2% thing is suprising as a long time lurker ive seen lots of posts regarding libido and gyno development. I guess it depends what study you read and what figures yoili belive are legit. Your right though there are some success stories and i could be a responder but for me its a risk i dont want to take. I dont judge people who are on these drugs, just think that especially young people need to know the risks :)

Was a 1 on the sides and 5 on top. Havnt had it this short in a while. Kindof regretting it haha. Normally jist got number 2 on sides and a trim on top ( no thinning sissors ) hate when they bust them out

It's the "in-between" stage a few weeks after a short hair cut that are the worst. The correct short hair cut can actually work wonders for receding hair but a few weeks after I feel like I need to wear a hat lol. Then when it's even longer like in the OP I can do something with it again.

Longer hair will work for this guy. Not short hair.

Had a manager who almost looked like a Norwood 1 (actually between Norwood 3/Norwood 4). But he grew his hair long.

People with thick hair can grow it out, and pull it off. I would say, grow your hair longer (to this guy). It would work for him.

I personally think I'm in the Norwood 3 region myself but thanks for your kind words. Can't use finasteride or minoxidil (sides).

Also I am just getting bucket loads of hair on my hands in the shower, on my pillow. They're everywhere.. Just got out the shower and checked my crown in the mirror and there was a little bald spot that was shaped like a rectangle with rounded edges rather than corners. Maybe 2.5 inches long and an inch wide.. Never seen it that bad before, I guess the water from the shower made it all lay completely flat.

Norwood 3A/4 here we come!!

I've seen you post multiple times with similar statements. Does having hair shaved to a 1 or 2 guard really bother you that much? If so, why? There is a lot more to life than having hair. I have to fight the negative attitude I have towards hair loss just like anyone else, but If i always had the attitude you post about "side effects of going bald are much worse" I would probably end up just not wanting to live at all anymore.

Your nowhere near a Norwood 3/4. Believe me, I know, as that's where I'm definitely at now. That's when your hair becomes an island on top.

Your hairline is good for an inch both sides of the center. It's just your temple end spots that have receded. Your around 1/2 at most (2 at highest).

Far from a three. That's the last stage before the top has visible hairloss on top.

Well I really hope you're right. I'm definitely headed fairly fast to higher Norwoods though..

Like I said, had my first experience with a truly obvious bald patch on my crown this morning and I am just thinning like CRAZY in the shower so I'm getting there.. Partially stress from a bad few months also but the hairs are all miniaturised.

I'm pretty sure I am far beyond the mature hairline stage now though so it is a matter of time.

Just gotta keep what I can until hair cloning becomes a thing..

EDIT: I'm also thinning on the sides just above the ear which I'm lead to believe normally indicates fairly serious future hairloss?

Does anyone know what norwood my boyfriend is at. He is 28 and has had a high forehead for as long he can remember. He seems to have good hair back in 2011 and then 2013 looks like he has had a bit of thinning. And 2019 thicker hair but I feel there might a recession. Sorry for the bad quality photos
Why are u asking instead of him?
