What type of hairs are good hairs to lose ?

I buzzed my hair last month but before that I was shedding 20 per day. 34 at most, and this number usually happened whenever I had dermatitis or folliculitis break outs. But whatever triggered my hair loss/T.E in the first place, made me shed hundreds per day. This was around August last year.
How's your hair now? Receeded?
How's finasteride holding up?

Hey, sup. I'm not using finasteride (yet), mostly because I don't know if my case is in fact male pattern baldness. In addition to having no family history of hair loss on both sides of my family, my pattern shows itself not only on the top of my scalp but also on the sides, especially the left one. Happily, my hairline is still intact.

Long story short, I had an allergy/fungal infection that I waited too long to treat it properly, and it goes back to 2019-2020. I was certainly going through a T.E (itchiness, burning, excessive shedding - all included) that lasted through all this mentioned period, and even stretched to January this year. I decided to use ketoconazole 2% religiously and to my luck my dandruff, the burning and stinginess went away, but my scalp became too dry and I could only make it back to normal recently when I switched shampoos.

Ever since the incident mentioned in 2019 my scalp has never been healthy again. Zits, pimples, dandruff whatever were things I'd never had in my life before, but now are part of my daily basis. At least, they were until last week. I hope this shampoo helps, but I'm not getting any positive because I've already used others that helped for some days and then lost their efficacy.

My hair has grown a bit since I buzzed it, but I'll wait a bit more to judge whether I'll hop on finasteride or not.

Yo ur story is almost the same as mine.
Had a fungal infection. Used keto. Went through Telogen Effluvium. Hair regrew back but it triggered male pattern baldness and I had severe dandruff. Go to a doctor bro and get it assessed along with skin condition.
Had a professor who had a hairline but midcalp gone with thin sides. Start early. Atleast get the diagnosis right

I spent a lot of money with three derms and one thricologist, who said I had no miniaturization, but at the end of the day none of them were helpful. I'm saving money to try one more before I decide what to do.

Has your hair improved?
How long have u been on this regimen?
i don't know about improved but i think stabilized. my hair was decent to start with, i did notice small hairs around the hairline but then some days i also feel like my hairline is still receding.

1.25mg finasteride daily for 2 years now and OM 10mg for 6 months. i was expecting more from OM tbh, after a lot of the hype you hear about it. definitely increased body hair, for my scalp im not totally convinced it did much.

thinking to add avodart (dutasteride) once a week and see how i go with that. i always assumed that if you had stopped your hairloss then you would also stop having hair fall out? even 20 hairs a day seems like a bit too much to me
