These were taken a few days ago. Hair is buzzed at 1/2 inch all over. Obviously you can see the diffusion. Grown out the diffusion can be camoflagued fairly well (I guess), but IMO the texture and health of the hair is poor, sickly looking, greying, etc. The density difference between the sides and top is fairly apparent, even grown out. I have retrograde pretty bad on my neckline and I think there's some on the temples as well. I don't want to shave my head (I have done it before) but don't feel like I have other options at this point. Don't think the shaved look suits me though, have kind of big, proturuding ears, and a pointy, egg head. I feel like a Norwood 6 pattern (if not 6+) can be seen in these pictures so I feel like transplant is not an option. I have quite a bit of hair up top (these photos show wet hair, under harsh light) but it is diffused rat's nest type hair. I'm on Propecia for just shy of 11 months - I don't notice any difference. I'm open to transplantation and can afford it but I'm risk averse and do not want to compound my problem. If I were Norwood 3, 4, or even 5 and felt like the loss wad stable, I wouldn't hesitate to get a transplant(s). I feel like the diffusion is spreading down in the lateral hump area also, which gives me pause as far as transplant.
I have spent months and months and months worrying over this and it's taken a huge toll on my mental outlook. I'm 38.
What would you guys do at this point?
