I back up what dudemon said in response to gascoigne. If you are nw2 mature hairline in your late twenties to mid thirties, chances are you are not going to progress fully to nw5,6 anytime soon. I've seen it with my own eyes... guys I've known for ten plus years who were receeding when I met them. The only difference now is they still have hair and I don't. Gascoigne fits into the first category of slow/ limited hair loss.

Yeah id agree with that UM. What I would say is that there comes a point around about when an NW3 starts serioulsy thinning out that ala jude law presently that at that stage i would be buzzing it right done to keep it tidy as i cant stand unruly flywaway hair. At that stage to all intents and purposes i believe I would be considered bald by the public . Thats what ive personally always been worried about do you think this is misguided? Did you feel there was a difference in the way you were percieved when you crossed over from this i.e were you percieved very differently from the time you were buzzing down an early NW4 to when you were fully bald NW7?

Even when I was noticably diffusing, I never noticed such reactions from people nor did I feel anywhere as self-conscious about it as I do now. Once I started with the clippers then the blood was in the water and the sharks began to appear.

Can you give me some examples of what you had to deal with?

I presume at least some of these are people you know, did you give them reason to react negatively towards you? E.g you were always cocky.

I would love to shave it all off and be mr clean....

Even if your head isn't a good shape, and mine isn't for a few reasons, it appears as a 'choice' or statement rather than a sign of aging...

Yes it does appear a "choice" to the masses, but you have too justify that "choice" to ar** holes that ask(or really tell you) "why dont you grow some hair","but youre not really bald are you",you just shave".This creates a situation whereby, people actually believe you have a full set of hair, and are choosing too shave because you want to look tough, are racist,or some other obscure reason.

This is where i have to cede my opinions to your experience. To me there is little difference between a guy who is buzzing down an NW4 to an NW7. I know what the difference is from the charts but on the whole when your out an about to me there is little difference. I believe you but its amasing to me just how bug the difference is. It makes sense. If I went to a NW4 overnight i would notice, it stands to reason that if i was already an nw4 and i went to an nw7 overnight that would be a huge difference to me

Thats a great quote by the way, blood in the water. Society definately has a bloodlust for weakness, of any kind

april last year i dont know if i had a norwood thing going on as i had long hair and crazy hair.

i noticed some temple recession on the summer of last year i think i was norwood 1 there and i thought it was a bad haircut. I used to cuit it short and then let it grow for 6 months...i was so ignorant I didnt know male pattern baldness started this early lol...never saw it coming.

So I think it started in june last year and i am not a true Norwood 3 still crown its thick but hairline is Norwood 3.

so in reality it could have started close to a year...but i only noticed 6 months ago.

I exagerated a bit to prove my point here lol.

edit: If you see my profile I put it as norwood 1.5 and back then i had the temples of a norwood 2.5(check my old posts) but centre hairline of 1.5 lol yeh it happened fast.
