Whats your reason for wanting hair back?

You need thick hair when your young as it signifies youth, health and your own personality. Also makes you look unique. It's also needed to age gracefully, that's why I want to keep it. Only then can I enjoy life in the future too. We can't help getting older. I am 29 but look mid 20s no problem. But one day it will change slowly. Again, I don't mind other changes. You see some good looking 50-60 year old guys for example in movies or day to day, again with a fair amount of hair! I need it for my happiness basically.

Being severely bald is not something like a spot, or wrinkle, it's an identity/attraction changing point. The implications can be huge. The other stuff you can lessen to an extent and deal with. But having aggressive genes for Norwood 7 or becoming that...there is no way back from the bald without a system.

I am going to be 30 by the end of the year, there is no way I want to ever go beyond Norwood 2.5. Period! I will do everything I can to stop that happening. finasteride has actually changed my mind for the better completely and allowed me to dodge a bullet. It's actually regrowing my hairline a fair bit although I will need a transplant which is fine. It's just the fact that since it regrew something, it augurs well for the next decade plus. I love this damn pill, it has no interactions with anything, my body loves it, it's silent and does its job. So happy we have it. The ingenious of finasteride lies in its simplicity, the trigger for male pattern baldness in those with sensitive follicles is DHT and it lowers it. I don't think I will come off this ever unless something better and convenient comes out.

Just yesterday I took the pill as usual, went for a run with music on, came back and was doing clapping push ups because I felt so happy within. Who would think popping a pill could make you so happy? Never have I been on any long term medication but this one is necessary and safe for me.

Whats the reason? do you want hair cause you liked having it and it was just your thing, or do you want it to "fit in"? be honest, how many wouldnt give a damn if all of a sudden being bald was the new trend? reason im saying this because if you want hair cause you liked it etc then fair does, but doing it to make "society" happy is never the way to go in my opinion, cause when will it end? you will always be changing yourself or worrying etc, and thats not the way to go is it? i just hope you all doing whatever it is you want to do with your hair worry for yourself, and not because deep down you couldnt care less but just doing it to please who ever, just my opinion, obviously i cant control anyone lol, take care.

This, I really did like having thick hair and a normal hairline because it is a part of me and a sign of youth, now to be losing it at 19 makes me feel like I should be in my 40s and that I am old even though I am still rather young.

Yes Danny. But it's also not a good sign to place so much importance on something that I may not be able to control one day. Oh well. My friends, gf and colleagues have noticed I feel a lot more happier.

Why isnt it good sign? anyway there shouldnt be any type of anything about balding, its a thing what happens if people like it or not, if those same people you just mentioned was to leave you if you was to go bald for a example, then they was never close to you to begin with.

It isn't a good sign because my mood is so dependent on my hair. I know things should be okay bearing in mind my genetics, finasteride, transplants. But there is always that what if. I personally think serious attachment to anything in life is dangerous, what if that thing is no longer there? Always need a back up plan. I don't care if I were to die as such as I wouldn't be there to worry. I more mean staying alive and losing things I like.

Yes, these people would never leave me I know that. I see quite bald people walking around just fine. But I don't want to be that person and that's the crux of the issue. It kills me to see myself reduced to that. I admire these bald guys and I don't hate them or anyone for that matter. But if I had everything in life and I went for a countryside walk with hardly any hair, I would still hate life. I am aware this is a bad attitude but it is what it is.

I see, anyway you said you are happy now anyway, and like i said thats all what matters, whatever comes in the future we will all deal with it (whatever problem it may be), but until then enjoy life.

I actually prefer the buzzed look, getting a #1 all around. So much easier to maintain, hop in the shower, towel dry, and you're ready to go. Plus it feels amazing when there's a slight breeze, and I cant stop touching my head! Before, I made sure no one would touch my hair so they wouldnt ruin my style.

But the people I knew kept constantly reminding me. "You look better with hair." "Its just hair, it will grow back." "Are you going to grow your hair back?"
Especially my family, they just cant understand what baldness means lol. I tell them im going bald, and yet they expect me to grow the full thick hair I used to have. Like how dumb can you get!

I can 100% say I wouldnt mind if this didnt happen at such a young age. But it did. So my answer is: yes, I want hair mainly because of society. Hopefully that will change once I accept baldness (or hopefully this seti **** works!)

Well if you are anything like me you will go "**** it" one day and stop worrying like i did, difference is you already bald while i had a silly hairstyle lol, people around you will get used to it, i remember people i know saying they cant see me any other way now, if your friends etc dont get used to it...tough lol.

Yes don't we all.
Forreal. To have this hair 4 months ago, and now have to rock the shaved look. I just hope I dont go the Norwood pattern.

It usually helps when the present is free from other deep challenges.

It's good to hear your hair has not degraded to a point where it matters to you. WE will be happy to help you assess your Norwood if/ when you are ready. Without seeing pics I'll guess you are no worse than a NW1.5. I'ld be positivity kicking my heels up with merriment also if I were in your shoes. Good Luck. -)
My hairline starts in the middle of my head, well it looks that way when shaved until it grows out and it looks like the typical horseshoe pattern, i mean there is patchy hairs at the back but in the sun, it dont matter lol, i dont know what Norwood that is though.

To put it simply I fight my hair loss because I like the way I look with hair. I did the whole buzzing thing for years and I was never satisfied with the way I look. If all the top actors and models decided to shave their heads tomorrow it would make absolutely no difference to me.

Two reasons for me:

1) I'm disgusted with what I see in the mirror, it's not me.
2) I want to be treated NORMALLY by society like I was before hair loss.

I want my hair back so society can stop treating me like a leper/pariah. Nobody wants to be regarded as " less than" or made to feel inferior... but ultulmately my need for acceptance is self serving so in a round about way im doing it for myself. Hows that dboy?

Because I'm not a philosophical zombie. I care and feel and I should be allowed to and it's actually nobodies else business. And for ****'s sake, who wouldn't want hair? You can remove it yourself if you don't want it. It's a ****ing part of the human body, it serves a biologic functional. Just because it hasn't affected natural selection, it doesn't mean it's not a disease. It's also been shown to be in correlation with another health issues.
