I have this all over my scalp. It's started after I tried an organic shampoo. My hair texture change and now my whole scalp is shedding and looks how you described. My scalp also smells rancid at times even if I wash it like crazy. Really sucks. Lookin foreword to what your doctor says as I'm currently fighting with insurance to see a scalp specialist

I mean i shed like crazy yet in three years ive lost a Norwood
shedding is normal, if regrowth is still present. I've read a post yesterday about someone who has had the same problem for 20 years but still has a full head of hair, the person is 37 years old. Kind of gave me hope.

Have you considered trying oral canesten or something just in case it’s a yeast infection?

Update: Ketoconazole shampoo did not work. Been using it for two weeks, and has not reduced even slightly. Those damn waxy balls are still there. Going to try salicylic acid shampoo soon, if that doesn't work I'll go to the Doctor, but most likely they won't have a solution either because it's quite rare and doesn't have an official name. Last option is to go back to a short hairstyle, That could maaaybe help. Happy that it hasn't affected my hair density. Hope it won't affect it all.

In many occasions it is recommended to use products to reduce the production of sebum (hair fat), but in cases like yours it is probably not the best. The problem is that reducing the production of new grease will only make the hardened plug harder to remove. The problem is not the amount of sebum but its quality.

I found out that even my eyebrow hairs have these yellowish/white crust and the eyebrow hair can sometimes be pulle out easily. Could it be something internal? Vitamin deficiency or something?

Are you losing hair or it's stable?
I am shedding hair yes, like I always did. (even before these plugs), but my hair density is still stable. So happy about that. I am annoyed that it's also in my beard and eyebrows though. Hope it doesn't cause hair loss in the longer run. Will most likely go to the Doctor next month.

Do you have an update...did it ever go away?

Wtf this is a bad thing? I read somewhere that the white spot is some sort of oil heap and if the hair that fell out has it, it means the follicle isn't dormant yet and will produce a new hair.

I mean I don't know jack sh*t because I'm not a scientist but everytime I see a lot of hairs on my desk I check for white dots and cheer every time I see them, and here you are worrying about the same thing. That's pretty hilarious :D.

How can it be hilarious not all people have this so it is not normal. This white spot is clogging up hair follicles making them fall off due to lack of air. Eventually the hair follicles give out then die from being clogged too much and will lead to future baldness.

I didn't mean hilarious that he's worried about it, sorry for the confusion. I mean it's hilarious that we still don't know enough about this disgusting disease in 2018 that one person is worrying about something being bad while the other (me) is celebrating thinking it's a good thing.

I'm most likely the idiot here though, because like I said I'm ignorant when it comes to hair loss.

I still have it but I feel like it's a lot less. Try using t/sal shampoo, that might have helped with mine. I believe I can confirm it doesn't cause hair loss thpugh. Have had it for 9 months now and no change in my hair. So happy about that.
