I shaved my head for years and looked like I had cancer. It didnt feel right for me to have nothing up top. Now I've had hair transplant's (strip) had some bad ones in the Uk that left me badly scarred. Just had a decent one in New York, trico closure scar is pencil line thin. could go to grade 2/3 with it but the other scars are visible at 4/5.

I could never shave my head because I have an incredible amount of moles on it (Argh) and also it's a pretty wierd shape!

I probably will be shaving it if it continues progressing. Right now my buzz looks okay, depending on if I'm in light that reflects off my head and shows just how little hair I actually have.

There's just a huge difference between a buzz and no hair at all.

Two reasons why I need hair:

First, I am fair-skinned and would have to frequent the tanning bed to keep from looking like a chemo patient. Although I actually look decent with the shaved and tan look, I'm not risking having future skin cancer over it.

Secondly, how many of you have actually tried to maintain a shaved head? That is, with a razor and shaving cream. It's a real pain in the *** to shave that dome even once a week! I'll stick to the regimine for as long as I can.

Even though I have a nice head to wear a shaved head, I don't like looking like a 35 year old guy, becuase I'm 26. So I decided to let it grow, after wearing the shaved look for 3 years in a row. Also, younger girls preffer a guy with hair. And I don't want to get a 35 year old female. If 35 year old guys get 20 years old girls, why should I get 35 year old girls? No, thanks, I want girls my age.

I once had a number 3 all over, and it was probably the worst haircut I've ever had. People at school used to call me "mircophone boy" due the combination of my large head size and frazzily hair I had at the time.

women like it when you tickle them with 1/4 inch hair. even 1/2 inch might be short enough.

I think this generalization applies more to American women. In Asia and Middle East, the women prefer men with hair. In this U.S. I think that since whites have high percentage of male pattern baldness at younger ages and the blacks nowadays shave their heads, the buzzcut or shaved head look has become a sort of fashion, and is readily accepted by the American women because they have no choice but to accept a signifcant percentage of the population.

I can shave it, because I did earlier today. I was sick of obsessing over whether or not people could tell I was thin on top. It was a hard step to take, considering last week at this time I had about 12 inches of hair, but I took the plunge anyways.

The most amazing thing happened afterwards though. I'm still alive. I even went out for a bit tonight, and wasn't treated any differently than normal. No horrified looks or anything. I am still myself, even without hair.

I still plan on using minoxidil for a while and seeing if I can get anymore to grow and try to let it come out in a few months, but I'm starting to realize that the point to which I was becoming obsessed with my hair is sickening. In reality, it is only hair.

My head is too big and I'd think I'd look like a skinhead if I did.

i was all set to shave my head about 2 months ago. i was always iffy about it because i know i had done this back in high school when i was 17 and ppl told me it didnt suit me. i think it was because my head shape wasnt good and also cuz it was pale. also i think i had some pimples but cant remember how noticeable those were. but when i was all set to do it again my girlfriend at that time and my mom both talked me out of it. they were like enjoy ur hair while u have some. my mom also told me that shaving my head wouldnt suit me. and my girlfriend was like wahts the point, if u shave it off, it'll look much more obvious that ur balding. and then she even pointed someone else who was balding and shaved head and she was like see ull look like that. its so obvious hes balding.

Yeah I have to agree somewhat. With most dudes who are balding and shave their heads you can see a shadow that sort of makes it obvious.

that only happens if you shave infrequently. If you shave every other day then you won't get that shadow look.

I dont even have any head.... its like a deflated half football or something.

Even my m8s said in the pictures when I was young and 17 I had a nice full head and face, and by the time I was in my early 20s I just went deformed with a head shrink!

Looked back at my sis and family and they all suffered the same fault accept my mum/dad, passive smoking ? :x

Might be easier, considering I went from one abnormal look to another. It might start bothering me eventually, but at this point the novelty hasn't worn off.

This makes no sense to me if the hair is there you can see it if it is'nt you can't. I know a nw7 who shaves with a razor everyday but the horseshoe pattern is still visible.

Yeah it doesn't matter if you shave every day. If you are balding, you will be much thinner on top than your sides hence when you pass that razor you will always have a shadow. It sucks.
