You know me, I consider it a disfigurement and a loss of looks. We just have to look around to see that's what happens. But yeah bro, I remember reading some report by some academic members, they speculated the grown out horseshoe was a sign of wisdom and status for early humans. That it meant they had access to more resources like food. Not sure about women. Also some say balding is an evolutionary sign that a man is past his peak and not to mate with.
