Why you should never shave your head

A couple of weeks ago my uncle asked me if I am balding and recommended that I should just shave it all off for a clean look. Of course, I am not going to take what he said seriously. Unlike me, my uncle is a fullhead, so he probably has not thought too deeply about the implications of shaving your head.

People who say it's better for balding people to shave their hair off are committing a localist's fallacy. Their reasoning is this: A balding head is patchy and imperfect, whereas a bald head looks smooth and "perfect". They think this makes bald better than balding. It is true that a bald scalp might be on some level more aesthetic than a balding scalp. But the point is not how your scalp looks, the more important thing is how your entire head looks. And when you have some hair, you holistically almost always look better and younger than when you have no hair.

My boss for example is an extreme diffuse thinner with very little hair density on the top of his scalp. On the top of his scalp his scalp it looks really bad, like a barren forest. You might think that because of this it would be better to shave his head and go for a clean bald look. He has shaved his hair before, and it gets rid of the barren forest look on the top of his scalp, but holistically it makes him look much worse and older. Just having something that people subconsciously identify as "hair" on top of your scalp is so important for your appearance. It is worth any imperfections in your hairline or hair density.

I disagree somewhat. I think looks and headshape determine if you can pull off the heavy diffused look. I shave because I'm nw7 and it just looks terrible because putting hair on the sides draws attention closer to the top of my head that has all the asymmetry.

It still sucks because you now have the exact same hairstyle as every bald person. No style. You are like an avatar that was quickly created and ignored any detail. You basically become an npc player in the game of life and its part of why you are invisible, especially to women.

Style begins with hair.

In this before pic of Elon Mask, no matter what he would try to wear or if he buzzed it he would still look bad.

there is no excuse for growing it out that long on the left. its buzz or shave
also, the version on the right would still not slay anything below the age of 35 without money and status, which is everything that matters. if you are an oldcell you need more than hair, and he only has hair, the rest is average to below average. so for the average man not much changes in this scenario. you will still betabucks some post wall chick at the end of the day. if you are actually good looking and tall, or have status/money, hair is the difference though when it comes to having sex with women who are still in their reproductional years

With that being said, if you have the right face/head shape/body to work with it..

It's not all about getting laid with young chicks, he looks healthier and more presentable, definitely gets treated better by his peers because of it.

tbh I don't think hair matters that much outside of your love life IF you have status/money/masculinity

my uncle is a bald CEO in his late 40s. kinda buff. ugly, of course, but manly, and tons of money and status

I don't think his life would be any different with hair, his wife is beautiful too. and I think she loves him for who he is

Ugly and manly is good for business and how other guys perceive you

Musk isn't a manly guy, he looks manlier with a proper hairline

He was smart to get FUT. Gave him great density at the front. Machine Gun Kelly had FUT too. Both have a very dense hairline for a transplant.

That's the one thing I kinda regret about my transplants but I keep my hair styled in a fade so maybe I wasn't suited for it either way.

I might still end up having a pretty dense hairline though. We'll find out in a few months.

you have researched hair transplant's quite a bit right?

could statham get a hair transplant, keep his current hair length and it would look good? like still kinda semi bald, but not as bald. or would the transplanted hair look out of place? and what about scars at this length (fut, fue scar?)

Think musk had other cosmetic surgery done as well. But yes, his hair is iconic.

I don't know if he could go all the way back to NW1.5 like I did, because I started when I was NW4ish and had 3 procedures. But I'm pretty sure he could go back to NW3 with 1 procedure, as long as he leaves his crown bald though.

FUT would be a bad idea because he keeps his hair buzzed, but with FUE it would look pretty natural.

Imo the only thing that holds him back is the stigma of being known as a guy who had a transplant. It would damage his "DGAF" image.

Plus you know, when the general public hears that someone had a transplant they expect the person to show up with something close to his teenage density or they consider it a failure. They are not educated about facial aesthetics.

I'm wondering bc im somewhat a younger clone of him, pretty much the same hair loss pattern too. i'm kinda fine with being bald now, but a frame would still be nice. I wouldn't care if I still looked pretty bald, but it would need to look natural and no visible scars, too. I just don't know if those f*****g follicles would look natural buzzed down tho...
probably not worth the risk tbh

do you know of any good examples?

Someone like Statham is actually the perfect FUE candidate imo. Because he's a rugged looking guy who doesn't need a lot of hair to look good.
what would you go for? putting all over, and adding Norwood 2-3 hairline? im worried about that hedgehog spike look tbh, but I guess that only becomes an issue once you grow it out like a cm or so?
however, if you don't grow it out further, will possible fue scars be covered?

Transplanted follicles actually look fuller when they're buzzed. I recently buzzed for the last transplant and no one could tell I ever had anything done.

I've yet to come across any examples of young guys with advanced balding who had transplants :( the only example I'm aware of is myself. Sometimes I feel like a laboratory rabbit lol.

I always keep my sides and back buzzed with no guard and I don't have any visible scars.

FUE scars are only visible by literally shaving with a razor.

With that being said I'm 2 months after the last transplant and I currently still have shock loss on my donor area but the follicles are coming back slowly just like they did the last couple times.

The "ugly duckling" phase after a transplant is pretty terrible. Lower confidence, you don't wanna go on dates, don't look photogenic, people can easily notice you had a transplant, etc.

For me the result makes it all worth it though.
