I equate finding a cure to hairloss to finding a cure for eternal life. Curing hairloss at its core requires a manipulation of genes in some form in order for our bodies to retain the ability to produce a particular protein, in this case hair. Producing proteins is the key to f*****g life in the first place, so its not like the proposition of finding a true cure for hairloss is a likely thing anytime soon.
In my opinion the closest thing we will get to a cure in our lifetime is hair-cloning and improved transplant tech. That is basically a comprehensive solution for most people who can afford it and have good characteristics.
