I'll take shaved head and wear a wig if you allow me. If not still a shaved head. Mullet and tache would make us look like a freak in this era. A bald clone with masculine features I'd look normal even if somewhat invisible.

And men had mullets, "rat tails', pony tails, and mohawks.

In a lot of cases I actually prefer a woman with short hair.
If the style is done right then a short hair cut can really highlight a woman's face a lot better than longer flowing hair.
