@k9gatton on you keep saying my hair is wet. it's not wet it is only bc the liquid minoxdil I just put in before I took those pics makes it look really damp like I got out shower when you put your minoxidil in can you see threw your scalp to . I mean I can see right dead threw it. Which sucks. Here's a imagine of my hairline up close
You have only very slight recession, not even thinning.
I was almost in the same position when I was 16 (I had great thick hair, most of my mother side males are bald, my father's nearly bald too. I was thinning in addition to receding). I took finasteride when I was 17.
It did keep my hair for some years but now I seriously wish I had at least waited a few more years before jumping on it. I'm now 24.
Your body hair is not an evidence of overwhelming DHT, it might indicate higher androgen receptor sensitivity though. You may want to get a complete hormone panel done before any AA drugs.
You don't need that sh*t for now, seriously. Wait a few more years. And we've got possible new treatment on the line. Just don't do that.
Anyway if you choose finasteride and get any side effects at all, even the slightest sign of sides, you should just drop it. You're young, starting finasteride at this point means you're gonna have to use it for a long long time. If you have any sides and still stay on it you're likely to cause an upregulation of androgen receptors in the long run, which screws people all over.
Your hair looks thicker in the 2nd pic...
